That's just the way it is sometimes.  When people have trouble with the Marketplace web interface, it's usually because they are using Internet Explorer.  Opera usually works better.  For you the opposite seems to be true.  Magic is loose in the world.  So long as you can access MP with IE, relax and go with it.
