Dina Vyper
Hi, Can anyone tell me if there is a simple way to determine the length of a looped animation in world? I want to set a series of animations to run in order, each playing once before moving on to the next one, but can't do this until I find the running time. Thanks for any help, Dina
Frawmusl
I believe the max frames per second of an animation in secondlife is 30 frames, and the max frames you can have in an animation is 900 frames. Therefore 900/30 = 30 seconds of animation
Dora Gustafson
You must know the animation length beforehand as there is no way to retrieve it from the system Roomers are that the Max animation length will increase from 30 to 60 seconds In fact I am not sure it hasn't happened already:) I did upload an animation longer than 30 seconds without trouble a few days ago (The Max number of frames depends of course of how many you make per second. You can have 540 frames with 9 FPS or 1800 frames with 30 FPS that will fill 60 seconds The number of frames you make are not the same as what you see in the viewer. An animation made with few frames per second may well appear smoother than one with many) :smileysurprised::smileyvery-happy:
Innula Zenovka
There's no way to determine by script the actual length of the animation. The only way to know that is to check with the animator (or time it with a stop-watch). Frustratingly, when my business partner (who is a very experienced animator) and I are trying to do what you describe, we've discovered that Poser gives one length for the animation, SL gives another when she uploads it, and neither is guaranteed to work when I script it. We almost invariably end up having to watch the sequence several times, tweaking the timings I've given the script, until it looks right.

If i'm creating the animation, I generally put both the priority and run lenth in the description field for my own benefit.
