Apolgies if posted in the wrong place :)

Here is a copy of the JIRA I've already filed:

"Have you ever wanted to donate/raise money for a specific charity based in another country inworld? Thats exactly what I wanted to do after watching the news coverage in Oklahoma, and previously Hurricane Sandy!

Here is an extract of my initial enquiry to support.

"I am a UK Resident who is interested in creating an item to sell on Marketplace to raise money for the American Red Cross. Their website is aimed more for American Resident and I'm sure trying to set something up with them would take some time. What I'm asking is this, could we have a function on Marketplace where we can choose to distribute a percentage of each sale to a specific registered Charity**. Just like Ebay does. Residents in other countries would then have the opportunity to create/donate and make a difference."

**Charities that are registered with the appropriate authorities in each country, i.e The Charity Commission

Once the listing is updated, the chosen charities logo would be displayed against the listing; perfect insurance to counteract fraud/scams that circulate the grid.

Many thanks to JamieW Scout for pointing me in the right direction."

Thoughts/Comments (on having the donation option available on your MP listing) ...??

 1) the government have a lot of money

2)the donation would not be in your name

3)you're not sure the money will be given

4)there is already google
advertising

1) Regardless of the politics there's people out there that want to make a difference :)

2) Its the same as putting your coins into an official collection box at a store etc

3) There's legislation in place to stop that from happening.

4) I've no idea what google are doing :)

Thanks for your comments/feedback :)

This is way, way outside the remit of Second Life. And even further from the defined purpose of both this forum and the JIRA. Your JIRA will be closed.

Good day.

Thanks for your comments/feedback :) I am quite sure your not the only person who thinks that.  However, I started this thread to get opinions, good , bad and the rest.  Which is the main pupose of this forum.  I'm not so sure its outside the remit of Second Life, nothing is impossible and much depends on if they want to do it.

Should they close the Jira i filed.. then at least I tried; nothing ventured nothing gained!  Good day to you too :)

in this case I would say donate to your local red cross, afterall the red cross is on international organisation and they move funds around as needed.

You'd think they'd be able to do that as par of the course; right? Well apparently, unless the American Red Cross asks for International help then your local Red Cross dont fundraise for them.

Thanks for your comments :)
