What are restocking fees?

I can only find a few lines about the amount it costs to buy land from LL. Can anyone direct me to where it is explained in more detail. Also, what are restocking fees and how much are they?

Restocking fees apply if you cancel an order for buying a private region.

If you are shopping for an entire private region, you may be able to save considerable money by buying an existing one from another resident.  A new region costs $1,000 direct from LL, but residents often sell their regions for $500, or even less.  But do not pay anyone directly for this.  Let LL act as your "escrow agent".  Follow the procedure here:
