Mac 10.8 Mountain Lion - Firestorm

Hey everyone, I'm kind of still new to the SecondLife world.

Anyway, I've been trying to recruit a friend to the SL world with me, only issue is she has a Mac, and I'm on Windows, so its hard to help her out with her issue considering I don't use a Mac. She has downloaded the latest version of Firestorm and is currently running the latest Apple OS 10.8, but when she tries to sign onto the client via Firestorm, it gives her an error message "Login Failed. DNS could not resolve the host name. Please verify that you can connect to secondlife.com web site. If you can, but continue to receive this error, please go to the support section and report this problem.". Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think this problem is necessarily Mac related. She may find a solution here...

Without knowing just how she connects to the internet, I can't offer instructions for making the DNS server changes. Hopefully she knows how to do that.

Hi! Tell your friend to go her system preferences > network > advanced > DNS: add these two DNS (both of them):

208.67.222.222

208.67.220.220

Click OK.

She also must allow Firestorm to be accepted by Mountain Lion: Preferences > Security > General: Allow applications from anywhere.

every program i have ever downloaded, there is a windows version and a mac version. as they are both using differant languages. has she got the right one? as in the mac version? she should check
