I need to create a object "Drivers lincense" fake of course. How would you acomplish this? Import an image of the fake DL? Can it then be grabbed and held in my avitars hand?

Any ideas how to acomplish this task would be apreciated.

Thanks

Josh

Yes, this can be done, but requires some knowledge of SL's building tools. You'll first want to create a plywood cube, name it "Driver's License" or such, smoosh it into roughly driver's license size and shape, set the prim's texture to blank (which will turn it white, the background color of a typical driver's license). Then import a JPEG of the driver's license image (you might find something suitable on the web, or can create your own in a graphics program) as a texture and apply it by dragging the texture from inventory onto the desired face of the license prim.

When you are satisfied with the look of the license, take it into inventory and "Attach" it to the desired hand (right click on the license in inventory and Attach from the menu). The prim will most likely be in the wrong position and you'll have to edit its position and orientation while wearing it. The default hand position is probably not the best for holding a driver's license, but changing that opens yet another discussion.

One step at a time ;-)

Good luck, Josh.

To expand on what madelaine said:
be carefull with images from the web. Personal Rights, Copyrights and Intelectual Property Rights can be difficult.

If you grab any image from the web make sure to replace the photograph of the driving license holder with something else (maybe a head-snapshot of your avatar ; ) )

And edit it further to change the name and every ID Nr / adress etc into something fake'ish.

Just to be on the safe side you know =)
