LL restarts all the grid on Tuesdays (and sometimes even Wednesdays) so thr region you are trying to login might be temporarily unavailable. Try changing your starting location or just wait for a while. :smileyhappy:

BTW, always check the grid status on your dashboard when you receive such a message:

When you login to SL, before you login you can select the location where you teleport to, usually set to Home or Last Location, you can type a region name in like, Help Island, or another island name you know (if it's online) you will be able to login.

The other responses give you the most likely reason for the problem you ran into.

The setting you need to change is in Preferences->General. Enable the Show at Login for Start Location. This will put another field on your login screen and allow you to choose your login location/region. I think most longer term users have this enabled. It is handy.

There are other reasons to get this error message. If you keep running into it then it is likely a connection problem.
