Sharing an Item From Inventory

Where would an item go if after sharing it with another avatar, neither avatar has the item?

It depends on how you shared it.  If you dragged it from inventory with your mouse and tried to drop it on the other person, you might have missed.  In that case, it could have gone to another person that you hit by mistake, or maybe into the contents of an object (like the wall next to the person). If you shared it by dropping it into an IM, you might have sent it to the wrong person --- the next person above or below in your friends list maybe.  Or, if it was a small item like jewelry, it might have rezzed and neither of you noticed -- so it's still there, hanging in the air or down in the grass.

Those all sound like goofy sorts of mistakes, but I have made each of them myself at least once, so they're all possible.  :smileysurprised::smileytongue:
