blocked inventory

While enjoying an rp sim, one participant complained that their inventory was blocked. Checking the RLV hud provided showed all was allowed. Is there a rule of thumb to locate the cause of this blocked inventory...a place to start looking?

I wouldn't trust the HUD. AFAIK every RLV enabled viewer has a feature to show the current restraints applied to you. The function is usually in the RLV menu in the viewer, either as separate main menu item or as submenu in the advanced/developer menu.
