No, sorry.  The Chromebook is a device for accessing web content.  It's not a gaming computer, and that's what you need to run SL.

You are not entirely right that there is no SL for tablets, though.  There is, in a limited way.  The Lumiya viewer for Android will let you chat, IM, teleport, change outfits, share inventory, and even view a very limited graphic representation of SL.  However, you cannot perform most group management functions, or use any of the build or editing tools.

Really a good question to ask yourself is "is it a netbook?" If the answer is "yes," then SL won't run on it.
