Have your friend open up a Support Case. They need to indicate the day and time of the failed transaction;

Crashing does not prevent you from receiving Lindens. The transaction is handled on the server. Check your dashboard if you received the money. If the viewer shows the wrong balance, try clicking directly on the balance in the viewer to reload to correct value from the server.
