People can't find me in search, but there is a tick to show me.

You're right.  Your web profile exists, but the search function doesn't find you. Open your Preferences and look at Privacy >> General >> Publish my avatar in search listings .  Is there a check mark there?  If not, check it, click OK, and see if you show up in search.
