Displaying not fix information

Is this information object is made up of multiple objects to display information? can you give me a concept how to do this if the text are not fix. (Don't mind the matrix background). I wonder each letter are individual texture:

Hi, the textures are grids of characters, and portions of those textures are displayed on prims that have been flattened to expose several faces on the front. Some of the newer boards are now using mesh objects, because those allow more faces to point in the same direction.

See http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/XyzzyText and the similar scripts linked from there. Most display boards like this use these scripts or ones very much like them.

Study the examples that Dora posted, and practice making prim shapes with your in-world building tools. If you are making the display elements with mesh, it's even easier, since you are allowed up to 8 texture faces on an object, and you can place them anywhere.
