That's not much information to go on.  My car won't start sometimes either.  Why? :smileyfrustrated:

If you want help with login, tell us what's happening.  Exactly what error messages are you getting, if any? How far does it get through the login procedure before it fails?  What have you changed recently? What viewer are you using?  What computer do you have? Tell us all about it.  How are you connected to the Internet? Anything you can tell us might help.  Click on the Options link in the upper right corner of your question and select EDIT to add information. Please do NOT start a new thread.

Thank you for adding the extra information.  It's very helpful.  You have a simple DNS problem.  Your viewer and SL's servers have temporarily lost the ability to talk to each other. Unless there's a problem with the servers (Always check http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ first), it's probably something on your end. So....

(1) Try shutting off your computer, unplugging the router and modem for a couple of minutes, and then plugging them back in and restarting. That simple step may clear up everything

(2) Add Google's free public DNS servers to whatever your ISP assigns you as a default. Here's how >>> http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/

(3) If things are STILL messed up, contact your ISP. Maybe they are working on their Internet connections. Mine go down for about 20 minutes once a month or so while they are vacuuming dust out of their servers, or whatever they do.

Why not? You did not provide any information that might help narrow down the problem and suggest a way to fix it. Also, you have posted your comment in someone else's very old thread, where it is not likely to be seen by anyone. Please start your own NEW question and include information about your computer, your Internet connection, and any specific error messages you have been receiving.

Me too, but you'll probably enjoy it more if you don't expect it to be a "game". It's not, really. There are no rules other than the TOS, there's no goal, no ranks, no badges to earn. You can certainly find games IN SL that offer each of those things, but SL itself is a social environment. It's a place to explore, meet people, create things, buy and sell items .... like RL (except that you can fly and teleport, and you never have to do laundry).
