I'm on a kindle fire and I don't know how to do anything as the video tutorials are not working and I have pressed the download button but I don't know how to see if it has worked

Ensure you have the latest version of Quicktime installed on your computer.

Have you yet been able to log into Second Life?  Have you downloaded a viewer yet?  If you have not done so, scroll to the bottom of this page and click on Download Second Life.

I have absolutely no clue how Kindle's work.

There's absolutely no way that you are going to run Second Life on  a Kindle Fire.  It doesn't have enough graphics capability to hande a regular SL viewer. You can try the Lumiya viewer, which is a text-only app designed for Android phones, but I doubt that it will work in a Kindle Fire.
