Inspecting a mesh shows no creator

Under what circumstances would a mesh object have no one listed as its creator? I have been interested in the ratio of creators of unique mesh objects vs. builders who use full perm kits. I bought some flats and when inspecting their mesh parts they have no discernable creator. What does this mean?

In the editor, it sometimes won't show the creator for child prims. It is a common thing for users of full perm kits to obscure the real maker this way, by linking in a prim of their own as the root. This isn't really intended to be funny business, it's to help make sure that end-user support requests go to the seller and not the kit maker.

Inspect should still work. Rez the object in world (not worn). In v3-ish viewers, right-click, choose Object Profile, then press the Details button at the bottom of the profile dialog.
