IE:  I get an IM.  It says Good Morning.  I answer Good Morning.  Next time I look the chat is filled with the following, having erased all of the past chat.  'So and so paid you 1L$.'   Sixteen times.  So far only from friends.  The coins don't actually come to me.  Most pay me 1 linden.  One friend pays me fifty linden.  They are phantom though.  It's annoying.  This bug erases previous chat in the open IM.  I lose links, poetry that is passed to me.  And of course I lose the conversation because I cannot refer back to it.  Any ideas out there?

I have that too, all the time. A client pays me 400L we say bye and thats it. Next time same person IMs me I see at least 5 messages that a person payed 400L. Just ignore lol

Hmm, erasing chat content? I didn't thought, that it is possible.

However, Preferences -> Privacy -> mark all under 'Chat Logs' and set the 'Location of logs' to a convenient folder on your harddrive. Logs are stored as simple textfiles, so that stays.

(Same in Firestorm, but the chat log location has been moved to the 'Network & Cache'-Tab.

I always log all chats, since most payment systems (e.g. rental boxes) print a short receipt in local chat.
