Unable to connect to Second Life

I was on it just fine earlier today, then after I teleported with a landmark and it failed and kicked me off, I have not been able to log back into Second Life since. It just keeps saying "Unable to connect to Second Life" or "Unable to connect to Local Host" when I tried that grid, immediately after I hit the log in button.

Hello NJMike

Have you tried logging into a different sim, such as Furball or Quarrel? Have you tried with a different viewer other than with Singularity?

It might also have something to do with you being on a wireless connection.

Well this is odd. I tried Firestorm and was able to connect fine. I then tried Singularity again and was also able to connect. I didn't play around with anything to have caused it to be able to connect.

Ok...scratch that. I just had it working with that post, and now again, it's back to saying it's unable to connect.

This is getting totally ridiculous and irritating.......... On my laptop, this has never happened. But now that I'm back on my desktop as said laptop is in shop, this is happening.

Have you already tried power-cycling your router (and anything else on the network... cable modem, if it's separate from the router)? Unfortunately there are many things that could cause that particular condition, but some are on the local network --and that's the easiest place to start.  Bit like looking for lost keys under the streetlamp, admittedly, but something to try if you haven't already.

I have no idea what "power-cycling" is. But I think I found the problem anyway - it's a known issue to Singularity Viewer version 1.7.0 (newest version). When I downgraded to 1.6.0, it worked fine.
