There is a very old JIRA on exactly this topic, bur it was resolved in 2008.  According to the last comment in that JIRA, a Linden "ran a fix tool" on the person's inventory to cure it.  I don't have a clue what that means, but if you are a Premium member you should probably contact Live Chat and ask them.
