Anyone know if sl will run using NVIDIA Geforce gt 620 1GB Graphics Card?

Thanks everyone for your help so far ok new question-

 

I have looked into a different system and am currently looking at an Alienware X51. This system has a 1GB GDDR5 NVIDIA Geforce GT 545 video card. Will this do the job of running sl  effectively?

Hi Mercury. Best to avoid that card as I think you will be bitterly disappointed with its performance in Second Life. This is not one of the new Kepler 6-series cards but a rebadged GT 530 with a few add-ons. What really makes this card so poor for gaming is that it only has a 64-bit memory bus (the better graphics cards have a 256-bit bus for example). It my be fine for general use and multimedia but not for Second LIfe or gaming in general.

What is your budget and what is your current computer spec as I assume you're looking to upgrade your graphics card? You can obtain your spec from the SL login screen > Help > About then copy/paste the details and add comments to your post using Options > Edit to the right of it.

You can get more information than you can shake a stick of RAM at about the performance of all the latest hardware, at http://www.tomshardware.com.  Pay special attention to the graphics and CPU hierarchy charts.  They're updated quarterly.
