are movie rentals in second life legal and if so how does one play the movie

I purchased a movie from an sl vendor and received nothing in inventory. Am I missing something? Shouldn't there be something to copy to a veiwer to watch a movie. Is this legal?

Assuming that the movie is on a streaming server somewhere and that your rental fee is at least going to cover any licensing costs, it could be legal.  I don't know what you might receive as a "product" when you rent a movie in this way -- maybe a URL to a streaming source that expires after a certain period of time -- but you ought to be able to get that information from whoever is offering the service.
