why cant i log in

when i get to handshake it stops logging me in why is that?

The "Waiting for Region Handshake" message occurs when the Second Life Viewer does not receive an acknowledgement from the server.  The usual cause of this error is a firewall blocking UDP packets. Reconfigure your firewall to resolve this problem.

You might also first try simply logging in to a different sim.  Occasionally that message means that the server for the sim you are aiming at is daydreaming.  It probably is a firewall problem, but it doesn't hurt to try the easy step first.
