where can you rez boxes

i know you can rex boxes at Sandbox Island...
but i don't want to go there because there is a ringing sound non stop,
some guy keeps talking...
and ads keep poping up everywhere.

is there anywhere else you can rez them?

Not all sandboxes are crowded with griefers. Do a search inworld typing "sandbox" and choose one from the bottom of the list. There are good chances that these ones won't be much populated and much more quiet that the ones that appear at the top of list. :smileywink:

Many areas besides sandboxes allow temporary rezzing of objects. Look for places that DON'T have a black cube with a red "NO" symbol in your address bar at the top of the viewer. One place I can think of is a sim called Barneys Bay, which is a nice coastal island where you can also find a nice wearable bike. Look for it in search.

If you don't have access to a sandbox where you are comfortable rezzing things, or an area with a few minutes before auto return, here's something you can do anywhere (this will only work for items that are copy/modify permissions):

- Create a folder in your inventory (for instance, if it is clothing, make a new folder and name it for the new item).

- Wear the box - yes, actually wear the box. It usually will default to your right hand. Sounds crazy, but this really does work!

- Click on the box with your mouse and go to "Edit".

- When you see the "Edit" Window appear, go to the Contents tab.

- Highlight the contents and drag them over to the new folder you've just created. You may discover that some boxes are scripted to automatically deliver a folder to your inventory, so you won't even need to do the "drag and drop".

- Click on the box and select "Detach", so you aren't wearing the box anymore.

- And now you've got the items unpacked and ready to use from your inventory!
