none of the viewers ive downloaded are working! i need help!!!

i really want to play second life and ive download the second life viewer, imprudence, and singularity

and none of them seem to work.

i have a gateway laptop i got in 2007/2008

model number is mt6459

15.6 GB of space avaliable on my hard drive

i am running windows 7

display driver is ATI Radeon Xpress 1150

processor is AMD Turion (tm) 64 X2 Mobile Techonology TL-56        1.80 GHz

 

hopefully someone can help me so i can play! it would be greatly appreciated :)

You may be out of luck sweetie. The ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 is pretty old technology 6+ years - It was one of the 1st chip sets to support the Vista & Win7 Aero feature but the other specs for this Video System are kind of low end. This video card chip set only had up to 256mb of HyperMemory to use. You really need 512mb minimum and preferably 1GB or more of video memory these days.

I have an older laptop like this I use a text only SL client on to keep in touch with my SL business interests and friends.

Perhaps some other volunteer staffer in the Answers Team has experience getting this Vided Card working with a SecondLife 3D Viewer Client .

Besides the very old video card, you don't have very much space on your hard drive.  SL can take up to 1 GB just for its cache (although you can set it much lower).

It's way past time to upgrade your computer.
