unable to connect to the grid

Hello

 

I am having issues with connecting to the grid. Sometimes, I cannot log in at all. A message comes up saying that it is either the internet connection, or SL is unable to connect to the grid.  I have tried logging on with alts and into different locations, but still the same thing. I have tried unplugging my router and restarting my laptop many times. My laptop is pretty new, and has high graphics. This just started like 2 days ago. My laptop usually handles SL very well. It never really lags or crashes. Please let me know if there is anything i can do. Thanks

Well you've certainly checked and done all the right things.  If you've been using the same laptop, router, etc. for a while and it was working the next most-likely culprit is your ISP.  Make sure you're not using a wireless connection but apart from that, ask the ISP to check your line quality, speed and whether they are blocking SL for any reason.

You might consider changing DNS servers too.   Change your default DNS settings from whatever your ISP assigns you as a default by adding Google's free public DNS servers. Here's how >>> http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/
