Question

I have been waiting for OVER A YEAR to get help with my help ticket. I am missing various items from my inventory, or at least, cannot use them because the "asset is missing from database."

Why is Linden Labs being such complete jackasses to their userbase, because I just don't understand how it should be THAT hard to get someone to help someone else.

So here is my support ticket, as an open ended request for Linden Labs to stop this idiocy, and ACTUALLY improve their customer service to what it used to be.

Note: Yes, I've cleared cache. Yes, I've waited until it reloaded. I was simply told to pay LL money in order to have their program WORK PROPERLY.

Also, it's only a hinderance to make it impossible for people to copy their old tickets from the support history, unless LL is trying to hide something. Failure with their customer service perhaps? There are plenty of free users who would willingly VOLUNTEER to help with this problem, but LL just keeps closing off their communications with the outside world. Real smrt, no not mispelled.

Second Life Help

Details for Case #: 00859262
Case Summary
Date Created 2010-07-24 03:51:46
Case Type Objects (Rezzed) Issues
Case Status Closed

Sim: Darkness Fallz
At about 4:30-ish (SLT) this morning, I was trying to put some shoe boxes into a single, already rezzed, box for storage in my inventory. Shortly after attempting to drag the shoe boxes to the rezzed item's inventory, I got the notice "[04:31 AM]  Attempt to rez an object failed." Afterwards they were not returned to my inventory, and could not be found after clearing my cache either. I did, however, find that three of them had made it into the rezzed object - Outcast - Hot Licks - Black, Outcast - Hot Licks - Blue and Outcast - Hot Licks - Green.

Hello!

Our records show that your Second Life account has a Basic (free) membership. Basic members have many Support options open to them (you can file cases about most account issues, billing issues, marketplace issues, and some technical issues), but it seems like your issue in this case is not one that is supported for Basic members.

If you have a problem or question not covered by these issue Types, you may be able to find answers at our Self-Help support portal. Here are some options for you:
*Second Life Answers: https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/answers
*Second Life Knowledge Base Wiki: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Main_Page
*Second Life Bug Tracker: http://jira.secondlife.com (and a quick tutorial: http://vimeo.com/14643240)

If this still does not solve your problem, and you would like extended support options (like live chat help and expanded support case Types), you can upgrade your membership to Premium here: http://secondlife.com/my/account/membership.php. Remember that you must have a valid form of billing (PayPal or credit/debit card) on file, and that you will be charged immediately for the full amount of the membership.

Regards,
Maggie Linden

We're only residents like yourself, not Linden Lab employees, and we can't do a thing about your support ticket.

The Lab's support policy is what it is...and that is to give very limited technical support to Basic account holders.  You want better support from LL, you have to pay for it, or make do with what you can get for free from us residents.

So here's my free advice:  Your objects are gone.  Dissolved into the ether due to an SL glitch.  Get over it and spend a couple bucks on replacements.

We can agree or disagree with the support offered by LL to Basic (free) accounts ( http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Types_of_Support_Case ). But it is what it is, it's a fact. The answer of LL to your Support Case is the "correct" answer, the only possible answer.

PS. I do not know a company with free and pay costumers that offers FULL support to the free users.

Hi my name is IvaDulo proto, I had a lot of inventory missing for quite a while, one day I recieved a notice from Linden Labs that they had checked out my inventory and taken out a bunch of salsa dances that were illegal & defied international author rights, when searching I noticed that these dances were part of a Dance Ball that I had purchased for my sim ?

It seems that to protect sl clients they must search all inventories for this type of file which is corrupted by author rights trafficking??? This was quite uncomfortable, thinking that anyone at any time could enter my inventory without knowing it !!!

Not that I am hiding anything, but I spent my money on these items, did I get a refund? NO, ws I told that I could attack the author of the dance ball to recieve a refubd? NO, all i got was a pat on the back and sorry for the bother !

Personally I think that LL is pushing things a bit too far, where is all the money going that is lost buying things they cant even check out before it is put up for sale ??? also thinking about the enormous amount of thieves there are on Second Life, & nothing is done about it, or can be, because it is gotten out of hand and LL cannot do anything about it ! I have had to shut down my sim (which I pay 130 dollars a month) to visitors because everytime I open it for commercial reasons & to sell my animals, things dissapear and are stolen !!! even though they say you cant steal things stuff dissapears always so I just put up my ban lines and stopped business and too bad for LL I have quite buying products, maybe if enough people do this they will start taking care of business correctly !!!
