Why is it that I can log into SL, but I can log into the web pages?

I can't seem to get onto SL from any viewer. It keeps giving me an error message stating

"Login Failed"

"DSN could not resolve the host name"

"Please verify that you can connect to the web" etc.

Should I be worried? Or is something that can be fixed? x.x I need to know ASAP, thank you!

add these Google free DNS to your Internet settings as explained in this link:

https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using?hl=fr

If you are on a Mac, add these (use them both):

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

Then restart both your router and computer.

That sounds like a connection problem common to Mac's and blocked ports in places like college campus networks.
