Doubled order after told order failed - Marketplace ERROR I want a refund

Unfortunately, they won't. You're probably out the 248$L, since the items are full perm, but you can send a very polite notecard (or IM, depending on the seller's preference) to the seller and let them know what happened. They might take pity on you and refund the extra purchase. 

When a marketplace order fails, wait a little while before you repurchase, since the charge and/or the item might show up later. If you weren't charged AND didn't get the item, give it a day or so. If you were charged but didn't get the item, you can submit a ticket. This is so common that LL has a specific category just for this issue alone! It's generally inadvisable to submit two orders for the same purchase within minutes of each other, since this does happen.

LL won't refund the purchase because, as far as they're concerned, you got the original item. It just took time. The vendor is a better bet.
