An image I did for a customer has shown up posted on a magazine cover of some type. I have not seen it in world yet as I am on a mobile connection right now. But the customer who is in the image happen to see it and asked if I allowed the use of her image. The answer is no but now I'm wondering why an image I created is being used with no permission from the subject or myself. What I would like to know is what would be deemed proper procedure to have the image removed here? Also the customer eluded to the fact that she should have been paid for them using her image to which I agree. Along with the fact the there is intellectual property rights infringement. Please advise via a notecard or email since I may never see the response otherwise.

Okay, so I got the scoop.  It appears as though Tehran's customer was alarmed because someone was using a profile pic capture script to display their profile pic on a prim at their establishment.  As such, among other things, I advised him that this was not a legally actionable offense.

It's so long ago I can't remember the whole discussion on this but you can't display someone's profile picture without getting their permission.  Which is why you often times get the message, "Such and such would like to display your profile picture."

It is actually ARable if you display it without permission.

I don't know what the RL Legal implications are but there actually were some when this issue came up years ago.

If I do recall correctly the whole discussion took place in a JIRA where LL stated that permission had to be obtained.  That's got to be five or six years ago.
