What happens to my avatar if someone ambushes and derenders it? Is it gone for good? Where does it go?

"Derendering" as is used in Second Life only means that something isn't drawn in one person's viewer. If someone derenders you they can't see you but it doesn't affect anyone else or do anything to the actual representation of your avatar on the servers.
