I have a huge graphic bug. I see all the items in black shades except the earth and sky.

No textures either and my character is not even displayed, all I see is black shapes.

I have a recent laptop with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

I just arrived on SL and i heard that wireless connection can cause some trouble, should I go Ethernet ?

Two things to try.  Both are in Me-Preferences-Graphics in V2 (not sure what viewer you have there, so don't know if location is the same)  Try turning off shadows.  Also under Graphics - Hardware see if Enable VBO is selected. If it is, deselect it.

This was a known issue in viewer 2.7.4 as detailed in this thread http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/All-prims-rez-black-in-2-7-4/qaq-p/974837 (the OP had a 5650) and this Jira https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SH-1969 (the person reporting had a 5650)and I guess it's still a problem for some. Unfortunately nothing seems to have been done about this Jira and the only solution I know is to turn off Basic Shaders in Me > Preferences > Graphics if using Viewer 2 but SL doesn't look so good with basic shaders off.

You could try updating your graphics driver using the laptop manufacturer links on this page but I don't know if this will fix the issue or not as nobody commented further. http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/737-280​41SupportforATIMobility.aspx

You could also uninstall your viewer and install Phoenix Firestorm instead and see how you get on http://www.phoenixviewer.com/ That may be the best option.

Yes, you are better off using a wired connection than wireless if possible but it's not the cause of your problem.
