Every time I close second life it says not responding

For a while now, when I log out of second life it goes to not responding and I have to click X again to get it to close and sometimes I have to use task manager to shut it down. Every thing I have found on the net is always about log in and I'm talking about log OUT. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

That generally happens if your Internet connection is taking a while to send all the shutdown (or startup) information that the servers need to know from your viewer before they can log you out (or in).  Until they catch up with each other, the viewer can't close.  As you've found, you can sometimes goose the viewer by clicking the X again, but sometimes it just hangs up. It isn't a bandwidth issue.  It's about stability.  Take all of the normal steps to be sure that your Internet connection is in good shape (avoid using wifi or a satellite connection, reboot your router, reboot your modem, ...) and hope for the best.
