hi !

i am glad i figured out how to create hair in blender- but finally got some trouble with textures .. i´ve been reading a lot and i see , ppl had this question before , but not any helping answers , so ima try it again ;-)

i see hair from haircreators , which is ONLY made with alpha textures , so it looks real and fine.

I suggest you ask this question in Blender-AvaStar in-world group.

If you are certain the normals are good, my next guess would be a problem with the UV Mapping. But, if a JPG looks good then it can't be that.

There is no difference between using a JPG and a PNG as far as where the pixels appear on a mesh/prim.

What happens if you put that same texture w/alpha on a prim? Does it have problems?

I don't have any idea how this can be. When I have these types of problems I usually find I am looking in the wrong place, trying to fix the wrong part...

Does this happen in all viewers?

Does this happen on a different computer?

You could try - (1) Make each layer of hair assigned to a different material in Blender - they can still have the same texture. (2) Make sure any edges between hair layers are split with the edge split modifier. (3) Make sure that each material in the hair has less than 21844 triangles assigned to it. These are things that might work depending on whether the effect is cause by some known problems. No guarantee that they are or that these will work.

hi !!

Thank you all so much for your help .

it happens with all viewers , yes... i only tried on 1 computer . normals are definately fine .. and its not my first try .. ive been trying for months with that result .. i just didnt dare to ask so far :)

on a prim the texture looks fine .. as well as on NON rigged hair ... just on rigged hair .

what definately helped is to have different materials ! thank you .. that helped with the triangles and looks much better <3

i didnt join and uploaded it ;)

so now ... the next problem .. this alpha bug-lines when 2 alpha textures overlap .

i read a lot .. its a bug , not to avoid , but jpg under it and so on ... but there must be a way to work that out .. as some creators are able to .

my problem : https://i.gyazo.com/114ae2e74dedae57bc33795f87df2788.png

any advice appreciated .. you would sooo make my day .. month .. year ... lol
