Question

Sorry if this has been answered before.  I tried to search and all the keywords are too common to find anything specific to my issues.

Lately when I stop walking, my avatar will look like she is being bumped about 1-3 seconds after stopping.  Sometimes it looks like I get bumped several times before finally still.  Also, when starting to walk, my avatar will get launched in the air like she hit a ramp, then fall back down to the ground (height is less than a jump).

Some technical info:

  • I am using Firestorm 1.1.2.34167
  • It happens when the AO is on or off
  • I rebooted my computer, router, and cable modem
  • Cleared cache and did the above (Did not uninstall/reinstall however)
  • I am not wearing anything that would otherwise animate me
  • I have also deruthed and used an old school "Stop all animations" thingy (these probably aren't needed anymore)
  • ISP ping times are good
  • SL Ping is 110-120, Packet Loss 0%
  • SIM FPS 45, Physics FPS 44.9
  • Max Bandwidth is 1500kbps
  • Cache size 2048
  • Happens on my sim, or elsewhere...even in empty regions

Hope this covers everything that would be needed to know.

Thank you in advance!!

Tianna <3

Hi Tianna,

I've not heard of this problem before. But I do see that you're running a old version of Firestorm, which is currently at 4.5.1.38838.

I'd recommend doing a clean install of the latest Firestorm viewer...

http://www.firestormviewer.org/downloads/

There's a link on the page for doing a clean install, which they recommend. Backup your settings (do so for every avatar you operate) before the update...

http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/backup_settings

And, if you wish to save old chat logs, you'll need to do that manually. Here's a thread that discusses those logs...

http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Viewers/Firestorm-chat-logs-saved-or-not/qaq-p/1012015

Good luck!

I have experienced problems a lot like this when I am wearing two different animation overriders, and they conflict. They are both trying to animate me in different ways. Do you have both the Firestorm built in AO running, and also are wearing a HUD AO at the same time? Are they both turned on?

Only one AO should be turned on at a time, to avoid conflicts.
