There is no "age verification".  You provide your birthdate when you register for a SL account, and Linden Lab accepts that as your true age.  The Lab will sometimes perform a special verification, or ask you to provide documents, if they spot an irregularity (if you have violated the TOS, for example, or if they have reason to suspect that you are underage).  That's unusual, however.
