  1. Thanks David I did vote and comment on that bug report. I am not sure what is causing this issue, I mentioned in my original post that I had this experience in the past with one of the earlier versions of Viewer 2, in fact if you google the issue you can find links to the same problems with that earlier version. I assumed they fixed the issue since once I decided to try Viewer 2 it worked. And one odd thing I did try the Snowglobe version of the viewer at that time, the SL viewer 2 gave me the DNS error, the Snowglobe version using the SL viewer 2 coding worked fine. I am pretty sure by now this isn't a problem with my ISP or with my computer, this is on their end.
  2. I am looking for some more suggestions if there is any on solving the 'DNS cannot resolve host name" issue. I have tried everything I could find online and in forums to fix the issue. So far I have tried these solutions to no avail. I am using Windows Vista. And on Viewer 2.4 which works fine, everything after 2.4 gives me the issue. 1.Reset modem and router (multiple times) 2.Clear out my DNS cache 3.Change my DNS addresses to 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220 So far none of these have worked, Someone posted once to me that they had friends with the same issue and they basically do what I have do. Keep using the old viewer till they hopefully solve the issue in a future release again. And to note this issue had cropped up in one of the first versions of Viewer 2 which I had before and switched to Emerald because of it. A later version worked witch makes me suspect this is a problem on the SL side. So any other suggestions if anyone knows of any would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.
  3. No group tag was on. I usually don't wear a tag, I have seen people in the past also with this issue post as well. Someone suggested once it might be do to the anti-virus you use. SL fixes the issue on a different version. Than it creeps back in when they do some sort of major upgrade or new feature added such as this personal web page thing in the latest version. All I know I tried every suggestion everyone had on this issue now and in the past and none of them worked. I will have just keep doing what I and others apparantely do. Wait for a new upgade and try it out and if not go back to the older version.
  4. I have been using one of the older versions of the SL viewer 2 because of this issue. I will load SL and the picture the always have pops up. So seems to be working fine, soon as I try to log in I get DNS could not resolve host name. Please see if you can connect to www. secondlife.com which I can no issues. I have flushed my DNS cache. I have restarted my router and modem. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Second life. Nothing works except going to a older version. I have had this issue in the past with one of the really older versions in as well, which caused me to use a alternate viewer Emerald. Anyone else have this issue? And if so how did you resolved it or any ideas on anything else to try. Thanks.
  5. 2.5 brought back the DNS error can't find IP again, 2.4 worked fine, I had to go back to one of the older versions on the site 2.2 to be able to get back on, could you put 2.4 back up for download, I think rather use that.
