  1. They have a kiosk at NeojapanSL Event. This is what is says on the owners profile.

"Inworld store and Marketplace is not available at the moment
We are doing everything we can to resolve this situation
    Thank you for supporting us"

  2. I think the price should have been a clue. Labor generally is in the 50-60usd per hour range. Most would want 2 hours upfront to get started. I worked with a graphic designer that would request 4 hours. I know this is SL but if hiring someone to do something for you, you have to factor in real world time. It's a shame it happened for sure. Someone having a store in SL really doesn't mean a whole lot. Just leave a negative review and see how "professional" most of them are about it. You could file suit  outside of SL but for $34usd (give or take) it's not going to be worth it.

  3. MP I find the search engine is very flawed. When searching relevancy it can be difficult to decipher between old and new products. I always laugh when I see negative reviews posted recently on items made in 2012. And you can't search newer products without sacrificing relevancy. Also there doesn't seem to be any algorithm in the ads posted on there. I wish it would populate ads based on things I might be interested in.

I recently started attending events for my shopping needs. I think this is the best way to find new items and vendors you may not have heard or thought of before. It's also a more exciting shopping experience. They are usually full for the first couple of days but usually last a couple weeks so tend to be easier to navigate later on in the event. Sometimes they offer unique items that are exclusive to that event as well.

As a former SL creator who has switched to RL creating.....
The intention was to supply a flawless product then and even more so the case now.

Every single, (fault), scenario must be factored into the design.
Every possible usage scenario must be considered when creating/providing resources
long before the item is offered for sale.
and in my case, that means free upgrades to the latest improvements of designs for early
purchasers who were informed at the time they would be entitled to free upgrades.
They were, (of course), informed of my 3 years of product R&D throughout its duration.

if your not this dedicated to your art/works?
    Give it a rest. Pronto.
Create Heirloom quality works? - or go home! 😛

Ya that's the part I don't get. It's been awhile since Ive created anything outside of hobby level stuff. But Ive been to graphic design and art school. We all had to stand in front of 30 other people all critiquing your stuff on the wall. Regularly, once or twice a week for literally every class related to your major. I'm sure most of these vendors have had or are taking some form of relative education. They seem pretty damn talented. I mean if you can't take a bad review. You shouldn't be in the business of making things.

the amount of counterposts show already you won't take it else than your way.

I was once told that people tend to accuse you of things they would do themselves. Hence you countering your counterpost before I can even counter a post. If you just want to have the last word. Go ahead. By all means.

    it doesn't negatively effect them

    Why this is bad:

The review means little to the customer once they realize they can be banned for leaving a bad review.

If reviews are skewed favorably to vendor or if people are less likely to leave negative feedback the vendor has little reason or motivation to improve their products.

People could tend to lean away from marketplace which hurts vendors who dont have an actual inworld store. I already try as much as I can to avoid MP as I find the search engine lacking.

(to avoid customers for placing bad reviews about expected features that aren't meant to be included for example)

Yes and anyone reading that sort of review would know the customer was new. So why ban the person?

As someone who likes to buy things in this game it kind of rubs me the wrong way when a vendor name drops popular body brands when the item isn't actually fitted for either.

Good point. I honestly couldn't tell you if a demo was available or not. I indirectly stated the reason for the bad review since I intended to direct attention to the fact that this is an option for vendors. And how it could negatively effect them as well as other vendors who probably didn't need or ask for this option.

I can't see in the OP what the actual problem was with the product you purchased.  I just gave a couple of examples off the top of my head where I found contacting the merchant before a review sorted things easily.

Maybe not for you but whenever I had an issue I contact the merchant.  Case 1:  missing texture option in the hud.  Merchant had missed it, thanked me, fixed it, refunded me.  I get a free outfit and a gift card out of it.   Case 2:  Missing the top for the body I used from the pack.  Merchant again had overlooked it, apologised for the mistake, fixed it and again refunded me with lots of thanks 🤷‍♂️

That scenario is quite different than the one stated in OP. And yes it would be more productive to contact the vendor for something like that.

because .... many reasons, one for example is that merchants asked for it...

but don't make a drama about it, if they don't want your money, spend it somewhere else

To be honest the drama started when the vendor decided to take repercussions for a bad review. I mean, my opinion of them changed in a month from the time I saw an item in the MP to what I saw from them recently at the Signature Event. Rather than be like "oh hey im an idiot these guys are actually good" and moving on. Instead I was banned and hence the drama. And if this what merchants are asking for then it really says very little of them since literally nobody that sells things does this.

If I were banned from a store, especially for a bad review, I'd be sure to tell all my friends about it.  And they'd tell some friends and so on.  If you don't want bad reviews, don't sell on the MP.  It's part of the process

I actually only told one friend. Maybe if I had vented more I wouldn't have felt compelled to post this :D. Again as far as I know they are a somewhat new brand so I don't want to bury them or anything. I actually appreciate new things in SL. I just won't go out of my way to suggest them to other people like I typically would with products I like.

I'm not sure how they could ban you from anything other than their land or groups..I don't think people can ban you from vendors and market place purchasing, but I may be wrong.. I've just never heard of it happening before.

if you really wanted something from them, try gifting it to your main from an alt..

I'd like to hear from others if it is possible to get banned from certain stores on the MP or from vendors at a fair.. That's a new one on me..

It's actually a thing. I couldn't purchase the item from the vendor at the event and the marketplace gave me a message that said item was not available to purchase.

  14. Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong forum. Only option I saw for marketplace seemed to be for merchants only.

This avie just hit his 14 year mark over the summer. I've written many reviews pro and con. I've never been banned by a vendor for this nor did I even know this was actually a thing. Is this something that was implemented recently?

At a recent event I noticed a vendor selling a few products I was interested in. The quality was very good, so much so that I decided to join their group to get updates and what not. So I attempt to join the group and get a message that I am banned from joining such group.. Hmm. As far I know I had not had any interaction with this brand before. I decided to try to purchase the items I was interested in. Cannot purchase item either. Still confused I decide to check the marketplace and see if I can buy from their MP store. Nope. Lastly, I did a search in my purchase history for items I bought from them previously and found one item and one review.

Granted, it was a rather harsh review. It was also blunt and honest. And when you sell things you kind of open yourself up to other peoples opinions. As someone who likes to buy things in this game it kind of rubs me the wrong way when a vendor name drops popular body brands when the item isn't actually fitted for either. In hindsight I believe this brand is kind of new and starting up so I did feel bad and deleted the review then apologized to the vender figuring this would be water under the bridge. A few weeks later, still banned.

I let this sit for a few days but it kind of ate at me and I felt the need to write about it. I don't understand why there are repercussions for negative reviews. Otherwise what is the point in having reviews? Why is this even allowed by SL? Also, from the vendor perspective, what is the gain in preventing someone from buying things from you? Once I hit that buy Ls tab the money is out of my pocket regardless. It's going to be spent somewhere.

So ultimately, the only thing I've lost is the real money I planned on losing to begin with (and maybe a bit of sanity for wondering why this is even a thing). Meanwhile, you lose any future purchases of mine or any suggestions to friends I might make and the suggestion they might ultimately make themselves. Not a big deal, but the type of product you sell are geared toward a relatively small (when compared to SL as a whole) community. One that I have been apart of since like 2008.

Anyways, sorry this turned into a rant. Still don't get why SL allows this.

  15. I was premium but I only got it for the live support. Other than that I find it pretty useless. Private land is much better, less laggy and normally better looking than mainland. The weekly stipend is also not very appealing. The game itself has gone stale. LL has not done much to change that. This is a shame because there are many things most players still have yet to explore in the SL Universe. I kind of wish the market place would be demo's only. This at least would make people leave their confines and explore more and maybe find new interests in the game. Otherwise only boredom will come from sitting in your box for too long.
