  1. Hi PinkRayne

I don't log in that much and when I do I'm usually working but I can recommend some places for you to go and see by yourself or with other friends. I can give you landmarks of places to shop if you want those. I recommend the Forum Cartel Hangout for a start. And if you join it you can set your home there too. It's free.

  2. My main worry would be for your safety if you told people you are a teen. Also you know it's against tos for someone else to ask if you are, right? Just so you know that.

But a decent person with no bad motives wouldn't probably care what age you are. We are all just pixels here in Second Life. Unless you are someone who only talks about (your) real life or the other person is someone who only talks about theirs. (Then you might run into "we have nothing in common.")

PS I'm an adult since a long time ago.  ;)

There is no reason to get that bent out of shape unless you are taking SL way too seriously.

    This.

Ceka: I love your stories (I always do though.) They are so funny. And I so agree the way to deal with it is just get past whatever happened and it does become a funny story to tell some day.

When I was renting my first apartment in SL, the manager logged in as his alt to test the door security. My door was letting anyone in and I couldn't lock it or put permissions on it. Of course now I know it was all about group roles they hadn't set the roles properly. I couldn't change media streams either and they couldn't figure out why. But he logged in as his alt and was on voice as both of them arguing with himself. It was hilarious. I was sitting in RL with my mouth open and laughing. One of my funniest days in world.

  4. I want the kind of SL and the kind of RL in which people who claim to be a friend don't get all up in my business without a permission slip and a lot of lube.

Is that really the sort of SL people want ? Or is it not more likely to be a factor putting a lot of people off ever joining in the first place.

  5. When I was trying to sell some land and it was really slow, I tried an ad. It mostly got me weird responses like "want to buy some Stiletto Moodys cheap?" (reported them for copybotting after some friends checked out their 'store' - they were still in search six months later) or "hey baby." I asked why they IMd and they said they saw my ad. Okay, wonderful.

Some would ask me to come show them the land, I would and they'd hit on me.

I finally sold the land after I removed the ads and dropped the prices.

    I don't recommend ads.

  6. Nothing in that story would've been any different if they had privacy checked or unchecked.

In  your story he only fooled her after he logged off and then logged in on an alt. She didn't know about the alt so what difference would privacy on or off mean to that story?

Luckily the Lindens see that the whole SLuniverse should not have to pay for the cheating jerks out there. And by the way he could've been playing all three avs for all you know. A lot of people partner themselves.

If you meet a rabidly promiscuous "lesbian" in SL especially if nothing she wears is quality or matches anything else on her body you can probably wager it is a guy in real life. I'm not talking about transsexual I'm not talking about a real lesbian, I'm talking about a male with male hormones seeking as many women for quickies, as he can, using a female av to do it. It is pretty transparent once your eyes are open to look for that. They really don't fool anybody but newbies.

I work it out because they're cheapsaktes.

Look at what Tiffy posted after me.

The economics of it, in relation to the time put in.

Only a cheapskate is willing to sit there for hours to avoid having to pay for a few cents with RL-money. And only an abusive person is willing to take advantage of that.

Newbies get a pass because they don't realize the economics - how cheap linden $s are, especially in that range. But it is pure exploitation to take advantage of their gullability.

Taking advantage of and abusive are way too strong in my opinion. What's abusive about giving someone money in exchange for a service? A lot of the people log out or use bots when they sit and camp. I never understood camping either it's so much easier to just buy $5 worth of Linden or shop for freebies. But if they want to it seems like a bargain that is understood in advance. It would only be abusive if they called them filthy names during it or refused to pay after.

I'm trying for a little humor.
