  1. Really good ones there, Void! ;)

Mom? Dad?: login/tp-into a room while it's "in use"

That one is sooooooo wrong. :DAnd now, a few more, hope they're funny.

Don't try to shoot, yourself in the foot - Get hit by an Object that was launched by an attachment (i.e. A weapon.) with a minimum velocity of 50.

    Everyday I'm shufflin'! - Lag-walk side-ways!

Crikey! It's quicksand! - Sink into the floor due to lag.

Pwnd! - Get pranked by someone's deformer.

One small step for man, one giant step for mankind! - Get orbitted to 4096 meters within 1 second.

You might want to clear your cache - Fool someone into believing you're not loading by applying a texture to every surface on your avatar that is 32 x 32 and RGB 128, 128, 128. (I've earned this one! :D )

I need more pills! - Set your Display Name to 'Gregory House'.

At least I had chicken... - Set your Display Name to 'Leeroy Jenkins'.

Hollow man - Make your avatar completely invisible without invisiprims.

Old skool! - Wear an avatar of at least 50 prims or more that contains no Sculpties or Mesh.

What a Mesh - Wear an avatar that is only made out of (a) Mesh Object(s).

Jammed - Have an eject fail on yourself or some else who is ejected by you.

Quantum physics! - Get stuck inside a prim.

It's a trap! - Die on damage enabled land by an object that isn't physical and not moving.

  2. Some really awesome ones, really nice! :) Especially love the ones based on general embarrassing things which we all have done once. :P So here's some more:

Lil' Explorer - Lag-walk all the way off a sim.

Cat got your tongue - Have Voice fail to connect in-world.

(Not trying to poke the Lindens, honest!) Hoggin'! - Run out of video memory and receive the Low Memory error message.

(For the Unreal Tournament 2004 fans.) Holy ****! - Max out the graphics settings except for Anti-Aliasing. (Explanation: In UT2k4 you heard the announcer say: "Holy ****!" when you maxed out the graphics settings.)

Handy - 'Accidentally' attach a purchased item to your right hand instead of rezzing it.

Recycler - Restore an item from your Trash Folder.

The big clean up - Go from 10,000 items or more in your Inventory to 5,000 or less.

I like to express myself - Create a Gesture.

    Poser - Upload an Animation.

This... This is my BOOM-stick! - Wear a weapon that does damage.

Road-rage! - Drive a land vehicle and hit someone.

Inspectin' me knees - Have the infamous 'torso upside down' animation bug.

"Friendly greetings!" - Chat with Torley Linden.

Viewer support - Chat with Runitai Linden.

Take a step on the wild side! - Wear a Furry Avatar.

Tear in the space-time continuum - Get send to a different sim other than the destination sim on log in.

Black hole - Get disconnected due to the sim you're in going offline.

Didn't you get the memo? - Teleport away too late and get disconnected due to a region restart.

Space cadet - Use a SpaceNavigator in Second Life.

Stick of Joy - Use a Joystick in Second Life. (Other than the Spacenavigator.)

And that's it for now... *Cracks her fingers.*

  3. Just something I thought was funny to start a topic about, sorry if it already exists, tried checking it but couldn't find any. Anyway, this is not a feature suggestion as Achievements would simply not work with Second Life in my opinion. This is just for fun. Idea is just to come up with funny Achievements that are related to Second Life.

Few examples to get you warmed up. ;)

Houston, we have some lag! - Get disconnected due to serious lag.

Primitive Primitives - Hit someone with a physical cube. (Imagine all newbies throwing prims at each other. :D )

Filty rich - Buy an item that is an Object with a price of L$25,000 or more.

Don't you have something else to do? - Stay logged in for more than 4 hours.

Sleep? - Stay logged in for more than 12 hours.

Dream-land can wait - Stay logged in for more than 24 hours.

I got a 'Second' Life anyway - Fall all the way from 1000 meters high uninterrupted by flying or fall-slowing attachments.

    Hippo's! - Use the hidden Hippo's command.

Garage sale - Sell an item.

Webshop - Sell an item on the Marketplace.

Can't think of any more, hope you guys do, try and make them funny. ;)

  4. Hi, run into an issue here that's the same as the one this person has. So, I have a SpaceNavigator and a Logitech G13, and the G13 keeps overruling the SpaceNavigator. The only way to get the SpaceNavigator to work is to unplug the G13 and completely reboot the computer! (Silly, huh? :smileysad: ) Does anyone know if there is a way to solve this? Would be quite something already if rebooting could be prevented. (Also, I'm using Winny 7.)

  5. I have been fiddling around with llLookAt, but even in Physical state the Object will seem to move smoothly, except when I use it to make it keep looking at my Avatar. The view moving updates with stutters, which is too bad as I'm looking for a way to have a decent machinima camera. I heard the SpaceNavigator is a way to do it, but it costs money, which is not a problem, but I heard there are problems with it, neither am I sure if my current Viewer supports it. (Exodus.)

    So, can anyone help?

  6. Well, seems I'm suffering what a lot of users suffer who have nVidia, Windows 7 and 64-bit, namely a failing memory allocation.

The last few lines of my crash log with the news I'd rather not hear:

    2011-09-04T09:43:16Z WARNING: log_glerror: GL Error: 1285 GL Error String: Onvoldoende geheugen2011-09-04T09:43:16Z INFO: LLVertexBuffer::mapVertexBuffer: Available physical mwmory(KB): 51225162011-09-04T09:43:16Z INFO: LLVertexBuffer::mapVertexBuffer: Available virtual memory(KB): 635922011-09-04T09:43:16Z llrender/llvertexbuffer.cpp(1190) : error2011-09-04T09:43:16Z ERROR: LLVertexBuffer::mapVertexBuffer: memory allocation for vertex data failed.

    Related JIRA: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SH-1650

EDIT: Seems it is not entirely windows related as a Windows XP 32-bit user has reported to have the same issue.

  7. Well, guess the Subject says tells most of what is going on, but yeah, I keep crashing in crowded places and yes, I want to use Viewer 2 3.0 and up. Also understood this issue mostly happens to Windows users, just in case it helps, some specifications.

Second Life 3.0.3 (239645), CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz, Memory: 8192 MB, OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit Service Pack 1 (Build 7601), Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 running on v280.26 drivers.

Is there something I could perhaps disable/enable which is known to help? Running deferred or non-deferred doesn't seem to matter I noticed. But haven't tried many other settings.

    Can anyone help?

  8. Hi, kinda enjoying Viewer 3.0 here, runs great and the shadows really add a lot, only down-side is that not all Alpha's show correctly but that can be worked around I believe, anyway... I did notice the shadows are awfully blurry at a rather close distance already, seems like in most games they change resolution based on distance, but you have to nearly push your nose on them before they actually get sharp. So, is there a guide somewhere that explains the debug settings related to Dynamic Shadows and SSAO? Or can someone tell me with which Debug Settings I should fiddle to improve them? Also I wish to set the SSAO a little darker or more present at least, they're so subtle they're pretty much only visible on very big mono-colored objects.

So, can anyone help me out? :o

  9. Hi, been trying around a bit with my Human form as Meshes have hit the grid, so got myself a really nice Mesh dress from the shop named Jane in the sim Zyrra, cheap too by the way. But I actually can't pick which shoes would fit best. Was thinking about some flats as I'm not a really big fan of high heels, with the exception of good looking pumps, anyway, what would you guys recommend. (If possible, no invisi prims, hate the things... ;) )

    This is what I'm wearing:

  10. I tried to do what your list said, getting no compiler errors, but neither the item does what it's supposed to do, can you perhaps point out where it went wrong?

    list detected_users;default{    state_entry()    {        llSensorRepeat("","",AGENT,96,PI, 1);     }    sensor(integer iNum)    {        integer i;        detected_users = [];        for( i=0; i<iNum; i++ )        {            detected_users += [llDetectedName(i)];         }        integer index = llListFindList(detected_users, [llDetectedName(i)]);        if (index != -1)        {            llInstantMessage(llGetOwner(), llDumpList2String(detected_users, "\n"));        }    }        no_sensor()    {        detected_users = [];    }}

  11. Hi, I'm making a little script to detect if an avatar is near, and so far it does tell if someone is near but it keeps repeating, logic of course since I'm using llSensorRepeat.

Now I wish the script to store a name and remember it, and when it uses sensor again and notices the same name/key comes along again, to not say it again, only to 'forget' the name when the agent leaves sensor range.

Also do I wish it to be able to detect more than one name at a time, can anyone tell me how?

I think the next time I see someone with small hands I will first set my hand shape to something large like 100. Then I will walk up to them and say hello. When they comment on my hands I will say, "Yes, I think you're right but I think yours are too small! Let's change our hand size together shall we?...Excellent, now we both have normal hands! Dancing? No thanks I've got to go sailing!"

Brilliant! :D So gotta try that. :P

  13. I mostly try to follow the rules of my anatomy lessons from art class when making shapes, in case of the famous small hands issue, or too large, also seen that commonly... Generally a hand, when slightly stretched, should be able to cover your face, with the bottom of the palm aligning with your chin and your fingertips slightly above the eyebrows.

In other words, use that awful game called Real Life as an example for proportions! :)

  14. I believe it's very okay. :) So knock yourself out, but do all of us a favor? Don't play them too curious or too... Well, as if they do not know a thing, please? Most real life kids seem pretty smart these days, they're just more playful I think. ;)
