It's a difficult dilemma - how abusive does a friend/family member have to be before one should/could/would cross them off their 'list'.

I think when they can't show they respect you anymore is the point where they  aren't your friend anymore.  People don't have to agree with you but can still respect you and your opinions.

With our votes we are deciding matters of life and death and immense suffering for people as the goods of society are divided. Access to medical care, food, shelter, and basic rights come to mind.

The problem for me, Amethyst, is that I don't respect nor do I want to befriend anyone who is racist or who votes in ways that cause harm to disenfranchised or marginalized people. It goes way beyond just not accepting a difference of opinion (which is easy for me to do in most matters). I consider these people as abusers and I would no more want to be friends or just "agree to disagree" with them than I would want to befriend a pedophile or child beater.

    ...

Luna, I make a distinction between those who have political views different than mine and those that are racist, or bigoted against any group of people, due to religion, sexual orientation or nationality.  The latter people I never befriended and if I did and find them out later, my first reaction is to try to change their minds.  If I find that is hopeless, then I no longer consider them friends and tell them in no uncertain terms why.

While I try to show respect to everyone, I am very choosy when it comes to picking my friends.

While Donald Trump won a majority in the Electoral College, he didn't  get a majority in the elections.   Hillary Clinton won some 2.8 million more votes than did he.    So I don't think it's accurate to say that "America wanted him," particularly since about 42% of the eligible electorate didn't vote and thus didn't express an opinion either way.

YES America wanted him because this is how the system works... deal with it.. you'r a bad loser if you now reject your own democratic system...this same happened a few times back with Al Gore if i'm not wrong...... and NOBODY complained than... come on get real. You lost.

On the contrary a lot of people complained when Bush was declared president over Gore, despite winning the popular vote, and possibly Florida too, thus the electorial vote.  Bush became president only because the courts ruled he was, not because he won Florida.  We'll never know if he did or not because the courts ordered a stop to the recount.

American's have a right to complain even though this is how the system works.  It's called free speech.  I remember when the Republicans lost back in 2008 that they complained and the Republicans in Congress said that they would do everything in their power to vote NO to anything Obama proposed in order to derail his presidency.

As far as Trump, a majority of Americans DIDN'T want him.  He only won the electorial college, which personally I feel is archaic and should be abolished.  I'm saying that as an independent too, not because I'm affliated with a particular party.

I'll stand up against any president that issues orders I feel are based on religious bigotry and hate and that is clearly unconstitutional as well as any order I think it just wrong.  Thankfully a federal court agreed and issued an injunction on Trumps immigration order that it specifically stated was now in effect nationwide.

  3. The problem with an IP ban is that people sometimes share the same IP address.  For example people that work at the same place, or that live in a dorm.  Even some apt. complexes share the same IP address.  So you can never be sure that you are IP banning the right person and can easily ban people that are innocent and that you may want to come to your sim.

Most people that use IP bans are just ignorant of these facts and are only hurting theirselves in the long run.

The applier was called 'Omega skin applier' so I'm guessing I need to buy that $99 to use it?

Why are people allowed to sell things without explanation of what is needed first? Is there a way I can get a refund?

If you own a mesh body it's your responsibility to read the instructions that came with it to see if it was already Omega compatible, if you needed the kit or had to buy skins that were specifically made for your body.  There are too many mesh bodies out there for skin designers to provide a skin for them all, let alone list them all.

If you don't have a mesh body, it is was still was your responsibility to find out what an Omega applier was before you bought it, if you didn't already know.

The TOS makes it clear that your transactions and relations with other residents are your responsibility and everything you buy is on a 'buyer beware' basis.

Although there is no harm in asking for a refund, it's doubtful you'll get one.  Most shops have an "all sales final - no refunds" policy.  However if the skin designer offers skins compatible with the body, mesh or legacy, that you have, they may offer "as a business decision exception" to provide you with a copy of the one you need, but are under no obligation to do so.

  6. A federal judge has now issued a restraining order against Trump's executive order until the law suits filed by a number of states can be heard.  It is effective nationwide.

"The states have met their burden of demonstrating that they face immediate and irreparable injury as a result of the signing and implementation of the executive order," Juge Robart wrote in the restraining order.

This judge was appointed as a "conservative" judge by George Bush.  So finally wiser heads have prevailed.

This will probably end up before the supreme court to rule on the actual constitutionality of using religion as a basis for discrimation against immigrants, not only in stopping muslims from certain countries entering the US but also giving 'preferential' treatment to 'christians' which Trump stated was his ultimate goal.  Clearly this is unconstitutional.

All the Trump supporters that agree with this in this country forget that most of them, going back to the earliest settler's during colonial times, wouldn't be here if they themselves or their ancestors were prohibited from entering the US due to their religion or even their preferred flavor of Christianity.  I know for a fact that I wouldn't be here.  Our open immigration policies from the earliest days has been what really has made America great.

  7. Actually IMO mesh feet are the easiest option, unless you are satisfied with the way just the regular system feet look in old school shoes.

    The advantages?

    • No more cankles, ie: no more lumpy deformed looking ankles and feet with fused toes that look unnatural when barefoot.
    • They come in flat, medium and high styles so you can have your preference as to how high a heel you wear
    • Match skin once for each pair of feet you own, or you can get appliers for most skins that give you a perfect match with one click.
    • Most shoe creators are now making shoes for mesh feet, so you have a much wider selection of shoes than with old school shoes or even shoes that come with feet attached, and at all price points - even free.
    • Most mesh feet allow you to change the nail color from natural looking nails to several different colors and/or polish styles.  You can even buy nail polishes separately or nail polish HUDs with hundreds of choices of colors and styles. Some will even change your finger nails and toe nails so they always match, if you wear mesh hands or nails. Just wear and with a click you change your polish.
    • Can get appliers so you can wear stockings that cover the foot, not just the leg, as well as tattoos for your feet
    • Some designers offer free mesh feet that work with their shoes as well as all SLink compatible shoes.
    • Many mesh bodies are compatible with SLink compatible feet so if you eventually go with a mesh body you don't have to give up the feet you already have.
  8. I agree that you should just post a response message to IM's saying please don't disturb you as you are busy. You can always tell your friends in advance that you may do this in the future and please respect you enough to honor your request. Real friends will then not bother you when they see the message.  Those that do, aren't really your friends they just want attention.

  9. You will have to answer their questions before they release your funds. I am not saying you are involved in this, nor is LL, but LL must guard against money laundering by law and sometimes must clarify things when your source of funds isn't clear when they look at their records.  It is a common tactic to transfer $Ls from one avatar to several to spread out the money being laundered if it's a large amount.

  10. You can also go shopping and buy a complete avatar or buy the components separately.  Components are shape, skin, eyes, hair.  Then go buy clothes for your new avi.

I recommend buying the components separately so you don't look like everyone else that bought the complete avatar.

There are plenty of free avatar components about too so you don't have to spend money if you don't have it to spend.

For questions you may have about opinions, where to go and how to use things, ask in the regular forum.

  11. Did your viewer at the time show you had $0L when you went to buy the body?  Sometimes viewers don't show the correct amount.  The amount showing on your dashboard is correct.  Usually a relog or having a friend pay you $1L will correct the problem.

As for putting your avatar together, now that you have chosen a body and were hopefully able to buy it, you have several choices.

You can use the shape that comes with the body, your own or you can buy a shape for it.  You can also use the skin that came with the body or buy a skin that is labeled for use with Belleza bodies.  Hair and eyes can be purchased anywhere you wish and will most always work.

Regular system clothes will not work with a  mesh body because they go under the mesh on the original avatar body which is invisible.

You can wear mesh clothes with it.  Clothes labeled fit mesh for Belleza will automatically conform to the shape of your body.  However you may be able to wear standard sizes too.  Be sure to try on a demo of any mesh clothes you consider purchasing to make sure they fit well.  A HUD came with your body that gives you the ability to alpha any parts of the body under the clothes to make that part invisible, so they don't stick through the mesh.  Use it instead of the alpha that comes with the clothes.  When you try the demo make sure that you can alpha out any body parts that need it and that the alpha or invisible part doesn't stick further out of the clothes than it needs to.

As for appliers, they are another option for wearing clothes with a mesh body.  Applier clothes are like system clothes.  An applier will 'paint' the clothes over your mesh body.  You can wear them exclusively or in combination with mesh clothes.  For instance you may want to wear an applier lace top under a mesh jacket. They are really handy to have for this because unless a mesh top is designed to wear under a specific mesh jacket you may have the top sticking through the jacket.  Of course sometimes you can wear mesh tops and jackets from different designers together, just be sure to demo them together to make sure.

If you buy appliers make sure that they are labeled for Belleza bodies or are Omega compatible.  Omega is a universal system for appliers many designers use.  Read the instructions that came with your body to see if it already works with Omega appliers. Some bodies come already set up for it, others don't.  Some bodies weren't Omega compatible but then later versions were made so.  I have a different body than Bellaza so am not sure if the current Belleza body is already Omega compatible now.  If the body is not Omega compatible already, you can buy a kit to make it work on the MP here.

Whether you use Belleza appliers or Omega, directions for how to use them should be included in the instructions that come with the body or with the Omega kit if you have to get that.

The biggest thing is to ALWAYS demo any mesh clothes, or skins you consider buying BEFORE you pay for them.  If the designer doesn't offer a demo, pass it by.  Applier clothing may or may not have a demo available.  However if the applier clothing is labeled for use with Belleza or Omega it will work.

Hopefully this helps to alleviate your confusion about all the new options for your avatar.  If you have any further questions, feel free to post them here.

  12. You probably didn't find the name in the database as some people have their privacy settings set so only other residents can see their profile in world.  Once you register as a resident and go in world you will be able to find people that have this set in their privacy settings.

  13. You logged in here, it's the same password you use to log into SL.  If it's a different avi you are talking about, you must file a support ticket and answer your secret question correctly.  If you can't do that, LL will want proof you own the account.  They will tell you what they want, which could include RL ID.  If you have to send something, they'll tell you exactly what, where and how to send it.

    Have sent and AR since

Didnt know that the sploder can pay the participants even days later if they show up, she could have told me

Yes a bit of revenge, because they kicked me out of the sim for nothing and were unecessarily rude especially one of the guests there, I wasnt rude nor argued was just asking, i wasnt even at the club just standing next to it., was an open air type place.

So you really didn't know if the sploder violated the gaming policy or not but decided to report them out of revenge. If people get at least all their money back that they put into a game to start it, then it's not in violation from what I understand.  Only if there is a possiblity they lose their money due to chance.

From your original post the host made a joke and had a bad translator and some women guests may have been rude to you  Would it have made a difference if they were men?  Why is that a reason to take revenge on a sim anyway?  The club had nothing to do with either as most translators are bad and they have no control over their guests.  There is nothing wrong with making a joke as hosts must try to keep things light.

I highly suspect there is a lot more to this story than you are telling. There usually is.  Most people that were banned from a sim are not banned for 'nothing'.  If you left off with the host telling you it wasn't your business since you didn't play you most likely would not have been banned.

  15. It sounds to me like you are trying to do this out of revenge.  However, you can AR them IF you then feel they are in violation.  Sploders can be tricky as to if they violate the policy or not and no one here is qualified to advise you about any specific one.  You must read the gaming policies and other information in the Wiki and decide for yourself.

To be effective, you will need to cite the specific thing they are violating and how specifically they are violating it. Submit objective proof including the location (region name and parcel name), date and time.  Assumptions, like your experience with other sploders years ago, and hearsay or just because you were treated rudely will be ignored.  They will check their logs to see what happened and compare it to what you submitted as proof.

Whether LL acts or not is up to them and all they will send you is an email acknowledging they received the report, not what they do as a result or a reason why they do nothing if that's what they choose to do.

  16. Your friend must file a support ticket as a 'guest' and give the full and correct name (including spelling) of their user name, and explain they forgot the password and security question answer.  If the email connected to this account isn't accessible either than they need to tell them that too and give a current email.  LL will probably ask for proof that the person owns the account and may require RL ID.  They'll tell your friend what they need and where and how to send it.

Next time your friend should write the password, security question and email they used down somewhere.  It's not a good idea to do this on her computer with an indication it's for SL or an avatar in case he or she gets hacked..

  17. Their game, their rules.  You must follow the rules to be paid.  End of story.  I would suggest that when you do talk to the person you don't argue with them or tell them how stupid or absurd the rule is.  IF you do you'll probably be banned from playing in the future.

The other's are right, LL will not intefer.
