LL rushed the display names feature, and this is the result of that failure.

im not against display names like most are, but this should have waited until all the possible bugs were worked out, the last names have been set to Resident witch means that all the names that are created now will not be as unique as they once were, and since you cant choose a last name anymore this makes it impossible for you to have a decent name, oh and it gets even better, because you are now forced to use a single username, you would figure that ok i will just use any retarded username and just use display names and set it to what i want then all is well....... and you would be correct, BUT!!!! LL made it possible for anybody to turn off any and all forms of display names on the viewer if they didn't want to be bothered with it.

so what does this mean for any new user or alts?

it means that you will have a crappy username that most people will see because if you set a display name, only people with it turned on will see it and to all the others, they will only see that retarded name you used when you signed up because all the good ones were taken.

this was the reason for the last names in the first place, well that and it was supported by the server, so why did the last names have to go, at least LL can do is bring back the last name field but instead of a list of last names, just leave the lastname field blank and let the users choose witch name system they would like to use, the last names were supposed to have been possible when display names was released but now you have no choice (like we ever had one in the first place) but i guess that's all in the past now huh?

ok i want to know what happend to the option to set your own last name, if you wanted to, from what i read there should have been an option to at least say if you wanted a "username" then thats fine but what if you wanted Firstname Lastname instead? i remember they said that if you put a period in the middle then that should tell the system that you want a Firstname Lastname as your user name and anybody just wanting one name can just use it(if its avalible)

i wanted to create an alt with the same last name as my main (the one im using now witch is Palmer)

is that gonna be fixed or are we all scewed?
