I recently had my hard drive on my laptop replaced, & was forced ot download the latest sl viewer. But now, anytime local chat is active, I cannot copy/paste anything, I can only move forward or backwards (never left or right), nor will the chat window stay minimized, as soon as someone talks, the entire window pops up, not jsut teh individual posts like in the past...this is getting t obe *EXCEEDINGLY* annoying. I cannot go to some of my favorite sims b/c the constant chatter makes it impossible to move... HELP!!! ty in advance

well, i guess we'll ahve to agree to disagree on the "feature" aspect of this, as i said, I personally prefered it, however ty anyway for the explanation.

& yes, I kwno they are still there, but I have so many grps, that when I crash, its easier to have them "on my screen" than to have ot slog thru all my grps to see which one(s) actually posted something.

why not Karen? I actually liked that feature...it was one of the main reasons i stayed w/the LL viewer

b4 I upgraded to sl v3.4.5, my notices remained despite crashing/logging off, but now it doesn't, why? I've been looking to see if there's a feature to turn them back on or whatever. pls help...ty in advance

yeah! it's fixed now, it had to do w/the sim i was logging on to, it's been fixed & sim rebooted From a friend of mine: Derrick Linden: Aha, there's the problem. So voice in the region -is- working. However, the region is experiencing an issue that is causing people that log directly into this region to not have access to voice. Luckily, I can fix that! Also, in order for your friends and the other users to gain access to voice again, they'll just need to log out and log directly back into a different region for their initial login. I'm going to go ahead and apply the fix for the region, which will require that I restart it. In the meantime, just let everyone know they can correct their voice issues by logging out and logging in to a different region than Sacred Cauldron. so i tp'd to a voice-enabled sim, logged off, relogged, then went back to my home sim & it was active again. TY all for your help. I hope this helps someone else.

ok, I've flushed my dns (several times), deleted all my temp internet files (several times), evn reset my router, lost count of how many times I've rebooted, I've even gone thru & cleaned up broken registry links & still nothing...frankly, I can't thnk of anything else to do...short of buying a new computer...lol

when i can, it's hit or miss if i can even access it, and still no voice, also, my husband found something that *might* help other avis, but it didn't for me: delete the speak button, then open the toolbar buttons link, then drag down both preferences and speak button

idk if this is related, but now I cna't get my avi fully dressed...

ty karen, i already made a voice call to a friend on skype & the quality was perfect, i cna hear music/gestures on sl, but not voice

ok, so, if it's not the router, where/what else cna i check?, btw, i have checked skype & voice works perfectly there, so I doubt it's a router issue, ubt good idea to eliminate all possibilties

nope! uninstalled every copy on my computer, evn deleted all Temp internet files

tried all that, & still nothing

my voice was working fine until yesterday, even tho the voice chat IS enabled in preferences, my speak button on v3.4... is still greyed. I have tried the following fixes & nothing seems to work. I have 2 avis & this affects both of them. This also happening on my husband's computer, although NONE of these fixes have been tried there...yet. 1. rebooting (yes, the old standby) 2. cleared cache (+ history) 3. togglign voice in preferences 4. plugging in my headset 5. tried the task manager/end process (& process tree) for slvoice.32 (multiple times) 6. ditto above + toggling voice inworld 7. resetting restore point to earlier setting (I had mandatory Windows updates teh day b4, so just wanted to check if somehow those might have screwed teh pooch!) 8. even tried on my other, older PC, still nada, evne upgraded to V3.4.5 I know ppl have asked about my firewall/anti-virus software & how that might block it (it hasn't in the past which makes me think not, ubt you never knwo). HOwever, I have zero clue how to check that. I know other ppl in sl, from different parts of the US & evn Brazil have similar issues. Pls do NOT send me any fixes for phoenix/firestorm as I've NEVER been able to get voice to work on that viewr. I am on SL's Viewer 3.4.2 HELP!!! ty in advance

actually did try that 7 it wasn't any better...hope it's not my sound card...but I've heard others w/similar mic/sound issues in sl as well

lol, I've never had a prob w/it til now...I can hear fine, which is weird, but my mic is a no go...grrr, thx anyway

I tried all of that & *if* it works, it's only for a few min & is spotty at best...

My voice stopped working l8 last week. I have it enabled & have changed nothing (I'm using sl v3, even upgraded to the l8st version). Rebooting is not fixing it, nor am I getting a message upon login that my voice server isn't working, can anyone help me? THx in advance

I'm trying to figure out how to add/delete profile pix in my v3.2 viewer. any suggestions?
