I'm just trying to figure out how sl calculates prim so that I can give our renters a proper answer. Why are we getting such disparaging numbers? How is it that, for one renter, sl says 30 prims, and when i hand count, I get 40 when looking at each object separately. I figure that mesh is "gumming up the works" here, as it were, in this area and making it more...complicated than b4 mesh.

I'm an Estate & Rental Manager and some of our renters are getting notices that they are over allowed prim. However, when counted, they are getting a vastly different number that what both our rental management system (RMS) and About Land/Object is reporting. So I tried to test a theory by going to one I know only has prim in one location on our sim. Both the About Land/Objects & our RMS say this 2nd person has 30 prim out. Yet, when I counted 40 by right-clicking each object, Edit and More Info and added the prim count of each prim in the 2nd renter's area. What could account for the descrepancy? Yes, I did try to read some of the articles on how prim is calculated, but it's as clear as mud to me. I'm not a builder in the sense of creating something from raw prim, only in the decorating sense. ok, I found the setting, however, I jsut rebooted sl & it didn't keep...

Yeah, I'm not finding it at all...

My sl viewer recently upgraded to the lastest sl version (v. 3.8.6) and now my enviroment settings keep changing each time I log in/tp. Once it was set, it USED to remain the same & now it's quite annoying to have to reset it every time. Is there a way to keep the setting I prefer vs. reverting to Region Settings at every loging/tp? I'm on a Win 7 64-bit SP1 computer, using the Standard SL Viewer (**not** Phoenix, or any other)

Ah. ok, there's no "General" tab in the sl viewer, this path starts w/World. TY

yeah, tried the clean reinstall and it still didn't work. How/where does one file a JIRA? And, unfortunately, I've never gotten a previous version of hte sl viewer to run after a mandatory update comes thru.

Just tried downloading and launching the newest, mandatory update for the SL viewer (3.7.20.29604). Now it won't fully launch. It starts to, but doens't fully load. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled several times. This does not fix the issue. I'm on a Win 7 home edition.

done all of that and the cache & region have been restarted several times. also, I seem to be the only person (w/the same rights) whose unable to update/assign roles

yes, I've already gone to the owner and everything appears to be in order. I can even see for myself that I, in theory, should be able to give out the right and in the past I've not had any problems. I'm at a loss to explain or even speculate as to why/how it's changed.

I'm an Estate Manager, unfortunatley, i'm not able to give out roles. Whenever i go into our group to assign roles, every role/title (beyond "Everyone") is greyed out and I'm unable to assign them. I'm enclosing a picture (if possible) to better illustrate my point:

ok, tried the bandwidth thing (took it all the way down to minimal in stages to see at what point it worked/didn't), it only got worse! and as I stated in the title, I'm on the **sl viewr.** (I've never been able to get voice to work on firestorm, but I don't need any answers for that.) I also want to know why *everytime* sl upgrades, there's an issue, it's always my system that's suspect instead ofhte program? I realize that this quesitn is more rhetorical, ubt there it is. Also, let me point out that I know of others who've had the exact same issue. Whether or not they've posted on these forums, I can't say, but I've heard others also complain about it.

Ok, but nothing, including my preference settings, have changed/been modified/etc. and b4, it worked fine. since the update, it stutters. I don't understand why it worked b4, ubt not now

Since the lastest manadatory update, my sl voice will "stick" or stutter on some random word so that it sounds like someone scratchign a vinyl record or like the old Max Headroom tv show. It's gets soo bad that i can't understand the speaker. My voice works fine on skype or other program. I've tried to reset voice in preferences, by stopping the process (tree) thru Task Manager, and so forth t o no avail. I have no idea if this occurs when *I* speak inworld. Nothing else on my computer has changed. HELP!!!

nods..ty, Lindal, I'd love to switch to another viewr, however, I've NEVER been able to get voice to work on firestorm & I need it for what I do on a sim I hang at.
