Hi everyone, Have just built and installed some roof windows that open and close on touch. I am now looking for a script that will close the windows automatically at night and possibly open them at sunrise if this is possible. Any help much appreciated :)

Hi everyone, I am in the process of buying a TV in sl and ive noticed the demo ones have a number of films already loaded by the owner, basicaly new dvd releases after cinema. My question is how do they do this, I have a huge collection of dvd's and i know you can find movies on youtube and paste that url into the notecard in the TV ? So is it a case of me somehow getting my dvd's onto quicktime or flash player etc and then uploading to the sl tv from there and if so how is that done. Please excuse my ignorance on this topic and thanks for any help you can give :).

Hi, Wonder if someone has a solution to this. I have created a sculpty tikki deck using an in world sculpty tool but when trying to stand on the deck I find myself about 5 foot in the air ! I understand this is because when i edited the sculpty to the size i wanted it, after rezzing, the bounding box also increased in size and extends well beyond the actual structure. I could set the structure to phantom and place a transpaerent prim within the deck but this will surely make the entire structure phantom? Any help much appreciated - thanks :)

Hi, Just a quickie. I've downloaded blender 2.61 but I've been seeing a lot lately about Jass 2 and how its bundled specifically for the creation of sculpties for upload to sl. It also appears to have Python and Primstar so.... is the version of Blender I have suitable for the creation of sculpties for second life or is it that Jass 2 is just a more convenient way of getting the software? Also I notice that the Jass 2 package has python and Primstar which I have been told are needed for the creation of Raw files. Do I have Python and Primstar and this ability with Blender 2.61 ? or do I need to download these programs as well ? Any help with this much appreciated :)

Seems sl was up the creek yesterday so I'm posting my question again. Have done all the reading I can find on setting up my own shop on the marketplace but haven't seen anywhere how much it costs? I can't believe that its free to upload your products and sell them as practically everything in SL costs money. Surely there must be some sort of monthly linden fee or am I going to be pleasantly surprised. If I am right can someone point me in the right direction for this info. Thanks :matte-motes-big-grin:

Ive sussed it out, i changed the velocity push to a negative value and the effect looks pretty good for a freebie :matte-motes-big-grin: Thanks for putting me on the right track , much appreciated, now i have the hard task of putting it all together, the anims, scripts and god knows what and hope it all works properly before I change it to a sculpty - Ty very much for the help.

Hi and thanks for the answer, ive alreday tried turning it upside down it was the first thing I did and it just streamed upward again. The particle effect is coming from a flat transparent prim which is the one i rotated but maybe you having said this could the emitter be inside this ?

Hi and thanks to all who helped out with my glow script, much appreciated. This question is about a steam effect, it is in fact waterfall steam, ive picked up and managed to modify the particle size, spread etc to give me the effect of hot shower water in the form of steam however... I cannot for the life of me work out how to rotate the effect 189 degrees as at the moment the particles are streaming upwards and I want them to emit downwards to add to the effect of the shower water -any help on this will be more than welcome. The script is also full perms. Thanks :matte-motes-big-grin:

Hi everyone, I have made some buttons for a shower ive constructed and I want them to light up on touch and go back to normal state when touched again, each button being independant from the other as they will be controlling other things. The buttons are semi transparent and coloured and i thought a "glow on/off touch" script would work, that is if there is one available ? however.... i need to obviously link all the items in the build together otherwise I wont be able to box and sell it so my question is if i have a glow on/off on touch script for the buttons will not the whole object glow also? or is there a script out there that will just activate glow on a pre selected face(s), eg the face and side of the button? Please note that I am not a scripter and have a basic knowledge of the subject. Thanks for any help PS: Thought I would add that if anyone can help with the scrpting I would be more than happy to pay for it as i've had 15 odd views of this post so far and no one has replied :matte-motes-big-grin:

Hi, I have Phoenix 1185 installed. Earlier on my lady crashed inworld but just before she did seemed to go into edit appearance. Now I find that in my communicate window, under friends, her name appears as online but instead of having the green "head and shoulders" icon next to her name there is an odd shaped light blue icon which appears to have a av with its arms spread out inside it ? i've never seen this before and was wondering if anyone knows what this symbol means, I'm assuming it signifies editing appearance ? Thanks :)

Please excuse my ignorance but i have just got myself a sculpty fireplace and i want to texture it. The normal way seems to produce very odd results -i know im doing this all wrong so can someone please tell me how to apply textures to sculpties. By the way the sculpty has full perms. Hi everyone just wondering about the following Most of us have a house or some sort of home on some land that we pay a tier on or just rent a plot with house etc already sorted out for you but ... I am well aware that certain individuals on sl have made a lot of real money from the renting of full sims, homesteads, quarter sims and the like so does this mean that these people have paid real cash dollars to LL for the land in the first instance so they can rent it out for profit or do they negotiate with LL and in fact pay Linden a tier, passing this onto us but at an increased cost so as to make a profit? If in fact you can buy from LL for cash dollars does anyone have any idea what the going rate is ? im assuming this would be done on the square metreage of the plot. Thanks in advance :)
