Answer to your Q is simple,snowglobe cant see mesh,it will render as toruses,spheres or cubes with texture on them,nothing else. Only solution to this is you will have to find  nother viewer that can render mesh,like firestorm ,singularity!

Havent you heard about rigged mesh? It completly replaces normal SL avi,now you can make ANNY kind of avi if your modeling skills are up to the task and rigg it to move same as normal SL avi,no creepy attachments that have joints you can see!

If your desired prim isnt root (root must be solid) simply edit linked,select only that prim,go to features tab (where flexy is) and on prim physics type change to none and you get phantom prim in linkset without making others in linkset phantom.No need to make it flexy at all,problem solved.

Most user friendly for novice? None and all! Pick one and stick with it! For rigging in this order (personal opinion best to worst) blender,maya,max! I recomend blender becouse of fiew reasons....1.st its free 2.nd it has tons of tutorials ment specififly for SL mesh and rigging 3.rd did i mention its free...

 

There is no best and worst or most user friendly program for annything,you have pick one and learn it,dont skip from one to nother cos that will only confuse you and you learn nothing!

fast and simple answer is NO,you cant use renderocity or turbosquid models in SL except in cases when creator directly states in TOS you can! And i still didnt notice anny of creators there do so so answer is still NO!
