omg ... we got to change the tos back, there no way we can proceed with it this way. We been talking about modesty layers and who has rights to be nuddy on public land but have overlook the most horrible aspect of this change.
Now we will all be subject someone saying "would you behave, there are children here." nope. can't have it. 🤣
Sigh. Every time I start to have sympathy someone comes up with a clanger like this.

Ok - I keep seeing these posts insisting that people are being ejected solely based on their height.
To test this, I put on my Death of Rats avatar (PTerry lives!). My shape comes in to 1.33 meters according to firestorm, and 0.9 meters by prim measurement. Avatar deformation for the win
Good as I was thinking of dragging in my experimental Feegle (Wee Sirky - all of 20cm). OK so the MNF are not 'humans' but is based directly from a hoom mesh (pre bento as it gets too fiddly)
More serious note, this 'height detector' nonsense has always been that as a 'type' indicator. My Dinky would fail and they are well past kittenhood.
Agree more definitions from the Lab needed but may depend on who is around - it is a bank holiday back in the mother land for a start

A couple of kid body makers haven't been seen in SL for a a long time, one of these bodies being incredibly expensive body. These bodies and associated clothing/accessories may never be updated to be compliant. I really hope LL factors that they may be forcing people to throw hundreds of dollars of body, accessories, clothing, skins in the trash into their final decision.
A handful of people I know are potentially quitting for this very reason. I know I wouldn't stick around either if I was forced to get rid of an avatar I've worn everyday and it's associated monetary costs because of something I had nothing to do with.
Hell, the amount of money I've spent on Legacy and Maitreya clothing and accessories over the years is easily in the thousands. Not to mention mesh heads. And niche bodies like anime bodies. Also the years of pre-mesh body content. If I lost/was forced to get rid of any of that I'd quit in a heartbeat.
Coo thousands? Depending on which currency its almost worth having customers.

The 2007 AP outrage lead to the clamp down and exile of adult activities and creation of Zindra.
We're in the same cycle, lets see if this ends with just new rules for child avatars. Or are there more shoes to drop.
no we - using a loose ' we ' are not. You are not Me

And the numbers show - <100 on forum versus 48k + online in world. Including me so yeah

From the discussions Ive had today .. creators don't have a clue.
Do they err on the side of caution and make something that trashes vast swathes of their customers inventory, or the other way and risk exposing them to bans for insufficient modesty coverage. They have the exact same guidance we all do.
None.

I just lost someone I was real close to in SL because of this. They are closing their accounts.
Why?

Obviously its a big turn off if someone joins sl expressly for the purpose of naked kid avatars, and there's no naked kid avatars. Will it solve the problem completely? Probably not. But you have to start somewhere.
Fascinating take

Yes. My UUID monitor has yet to to show online any one but me. Fascinating

Ah yes another link that has no relation to SL.

Yes. Posting is free if you are logged inworld.

Fascinating. So the 'forums' really have no connection to 'in world'. Duly Noted

Interesting. That all who post in the forums (General) be logged in to our virtual world
Double plus bonus - at specific places.
Whats the prob`? We are all residents?
Are we not?
It is why we bother to post eh?

So after a few days of the usual suspects plus the 'reddit is a fing honest' and a few because I am an oldbie and actually Ser P is worth reading... is it good or bad? Asking for the 95%+ of users who never come here.
I am thinking of a modest forum proposal - any that post here must be logged in at the same time.

they didn't with sale of Sansar ...
I did contact them after the change to ask for my info to be removed and got a nice, if a bit sad, email back confirming it. I wasn't actually that bothered so it was more out of curiosity. Don't recall any 'consent' as such but there was something about it that I followed.

The only REAL market for the MobileLife Fail Viewer is basically EXISTING SecondLiers who want to check their IM's on the buss home to/from work, or during their lunch break.
A wee bit off topic and Clipped a bit but on this - You and the Lab have this a bit B-Ackward. IdiotPhone users would be happy to drop 1.99 Euros for 5 minutes of fun. Does not matter if they become full(y) members. Does not need to be a 'full viewer' just enough curated stuffs. Easy money for the Lab + 'existing SLers' get to have a sneer. Bonus
Trust me - shifted 50+ units off itch at 1.99 - imagine the Lab taking that in from (insert globalcorpname)-play as a sideline.

As always fascinating. The tiny proportion of online in the 'product' right now who even pay attention to the forums.
A quick glance top right to the scoreboard gives us - well. Nuff said.
Keep going.

If you can't say it on the Radio in the US, it's probably not an allowed word.
Ironically, it's more permissive than some platforms which require users to get creative and say things like "unalived" instead of "killed", etc.
I bet that if you try hard enough, you can get chastened for using words that are otherwise OK, but because you are off-topic, or use them in the "General" Forum.
Interesting - when I lived in the True North (Strong and Free) I used to listen to radio from across the border and some of what I heard made my hair curl even after I shaved it all off (protip kids - just stick to the head)
Would be an interesting list but I reckon I could switch to Lapine - bunny is a great language for swearing (bonus - literary as well)

Is there a 'transcript'? If it ain't in text it ain't worth [redacted].

I can imagine a few things! "Stepford Husbands" should be a thing.
Puts paw up 'you called'? Although us obsolete ones are not known for reliability plus you can't get the parts anymore.
Peeve - no way to get to Venice Biennale to see the Archie Moore 'kith and kin' installation at the Australian pavilion. Just by photos and vid alone it is stunning and very very human. (Graun has a piece on it).
Tech peeve - shifting 200 gigs of stuff from one box to another over a network that seems to use carrier pigeons (Win7 to that 10 thing) and it taking 6 hours then realising all the SL stuff is actually on the other 50 gig bit.

Idea: By now, there are probably AI counselors available that are perfect for the need we are discussing.
"AI replaces TV personalities"
"AI replaces qualified-by-online-course counselors"
"Nothing of value was lost"
All the above are valid.- 3

For those who use more logical units the stated height is approx 1.65m. For those more comfortable with BCE measures thats about 3.6 cubits.
Now back to rinse and repeat
