I would like to login a few alts I have to hang out in my region doing stuff or just sitting around. Can anyone recommend a good low-lag and low-ressources viewer? Preferably one that works on Linux. The ideal thing would of course be to be able to log them in through a website :)

Despite what some people say YOU ARE ABLE to reclaim your group. Do this either with the conierge chat (if you have access to that) or by filing a support ticket. The founder of the group can remove any owners - since he was the founder and the only one that paid the 100 L$ fee.

Okay Silkie here follwos the full solution: 1) Visit www.ubuntu.com and download the latest version of Ubuntu. 2) Burn the Ubuntu ISO to a CD-ROM. 3) Insert the CD-ROM on your Windows XP machine and turn it off. 4) Turn on your computer and chose "Install Ubuntu" from the menu 5) Make sure to use the ENTIRE harddisk to get rid of Windows 6) Be stunned at seeing an operating system that doesn't crash and actually starts up in less than half the time of Windows. Bask in the glory of knowing that this is the cummulative skill of mankind and a virus-resistant system that doesn't force you into using expensive COMMERCIAL virus guards. 7) Curse yourself for not having backed up all your data from the Windows machine - since it of course could all have been read and used on your new Ubuntu installation

Or are your prices per month? week? Also - buying this would require that one is a premium account holder?

Yes.. still seems a bit odd... seen from a pure rental purpose a homestead makes very little sense. But then they are also selling Openspaces - wonder if anyone ever bought that? :-o

Yes.. suppose there is one born every minute I would be scared if you having bought a full region would move on to get a homestead region. That is unless you found one of those that are born every minute.

Can anyone come with an example where buying a homestead private island makes sense? My lack of understanding is based on the following math: Homestead: 125 US$ per month - 3750 prims Full region: 295 US$ per month - 15000 prims That gives a prim price of 1.97 cents in a region and 3.33 cents in a homestead or close to 60% higher price per prim in a homestead. Now - considering that the market price per prims in regions is around 2.8 cents per month - Why on earth would one ever want to get a homestead sim? Seems to be a mathematical hoax by Linden Lab to get people that don't have the money fooled into buying something they will NEVER be able to convert into a profit. That is called stealing. If someone delivers a good to you and you do not pay; you are a thief. Your friend has stolen that amount of money; and while it is probably too little to report or reclaim; and Linden Lab states they will not get involved - it doesn't change the fact that your friend is a thief and a scammer. But of course they can be nice people too
