[How to tell if seller is genuine?]

Hi all,

So, I recently came across a place that looks very likely to have copied/stolen? all of their skins from somewhere else (this has been reported to the genuine creator who has had problems before with the store that may have copied their stuff)

It just has made me wonder, how the hell do people know if something's been ripped from another creator? Maybe you mostly don't, but i'm wondering if anything obvious to look out for I guess, as I feel a bit weird at coming across it & glad I didn't buy one of their skins!

I guess I make no sense (those who know me, know I have big communication issues!) but I was curious as I don't really want it to happen again, especially as it was a pretty expensive skin & if i'd bought it, LL may have taken it from inventory too.

Are there things to look out for, obvious things I might not have even thought about? I always kinda just bought things and assumed it was by the seller.

I'm not sure how you'd meet those your own age, as most don't really hang out with those close to rl age, iyswim. You might meet some who say their age rl but I don't know of any places for age groups, or how they'd prove it, someone else might know?

I'm not sure *but* I use Belleza's Isis and today (only today), the HUD keeps turning alpha slots back on when I turned them off!

The other thing you can do is hit enter a few times then type your credits.  Then reposition your cursor up in the blank lines you entered and click the little plus sign to add the picture.  It will put the picture wherever your cursor is at that moment.

If you were done once Skell replied, i'd take that to mean that you hadn't got the problem sorted/understood it until he helped? How about thanking the dude for taking the time to not only type a really comprehensive reply, full of advice (based, no doubt, on being a CSR *for the very same brand you have issues with* & years of being in SL (not months) but also offering to personally speak to the creator *even tho he knew exactly how to help you anyway*, and getting her advice!

Like someone else mentioned, you may know coding or whatever it was, but you don't know SL, and I think you should've at least thanked those helping, and tried their very sound advice

Sorry but it really bugs me when someone has a problem, someone else takes them time to offer a ton of help & advice, and the person with the issue doesn't even say ty, just tells everyone THEY must be wrong

I'd expect it to have arrived now. Relog is just log out and then back in, sometimes it'll then show up, you could clear inventory cache but i'm not sure if that would find it. Have you done a search in your inventory? (So rather than just looking, type the name in and see if it shows up in recent folder or somewhere?)

Try a relog, sometimes things show up then. It also might just be the servers are running slow and it turns up soon

I may not be great help, but hopefully Skell or someone will be along soon who actually know what they're talking about!

The animated hands are Bento hands, some mesh bodies have them included (Belleza), or you can use Slink or Vista's. I would think that if the AO is in with the Demo, it'd be in the full version too. I think you need a Bento AO (Vista sells one as do some other places), to see the hands move (they won't or others won't see on a normal ao)

Not sure if the hands ao is enough, or if you need the full body ao but others will know, I use a Bento AO & Slink Dynamic bento hands.

I think for me I just think of essentials, as guys also wear jewellery, but yes, Lewis is right! Earthstones do some lovelllly stuff but can get expensive. Don't forget some tattoos & piercings if needed!

Nothing screams “80’s!” Like a giant hair bow! (We called them “bowheads”.) I doubt I will be all that feminine depending on the outfit or ethnicity.  To me, bows say “ultra-feminine” or even “infantilism” (baby girl bows). Just an opinion!
