  1. So sad. No clue what Linden did yesterday & today but now having rez issues 24/7 Have done a clean re-install of FS 64bit. Internet speeds are pretty steady at 96Mbs Brand new Cisco DOCSIS 3.0 3010 Modem wiht 8/4 channels. All 8 downstreams are bond and cooking right along according to Mediacom. Mediacom has run test after test and only see an issue with Linden Labs CDN server data transfer.
  2. Internet provider, Mediacom and AT&T say the issue is with Liden's regional server. Feel so gimp'd now as my SL day / work is over at 5:30pm every night. See this being a major disaster as SL tries to expand it's market with 2.0 Back to beta testing High Fidelity
  3. I feel your pain. SL during peak internet times is unbearable. Skins, alphas, textures, heck I'm floating in the hair, cuz most of my house won't rez. Mediacom showed me stats. Everything is fine until erquests reach my area CDN.
  4. Well, with the adjustments suggested, various textures and avatars are starting to fail. Standing still in a room for 30mins and nothing but failed retries on getting various textures & avatar skins. while only an hour ago, no issues. http://gyazo.com/e5c80f0f4366463afec0a18fe7b0f7c7 http://gyazo.com/9cee5923cca4950bccc1f4a7631cbc00
  5. Made the adjustments. When normally everrything just POPs during the day, once I made the adjustments, things seem to be sluggish rezzing or like Sean said, long periods waiting on an empty CDN server then everything jumps in place. Will see how my textures rez as getting closer to my usual issue time. I can see what Sean is saying and seems exactly the issue. Timing Retires, images and textures being locked out from the CDN.
  6. Sean sounds like you have hit it on the nail. I've been pointing at this issue for a while. Exhausted every possible local possibility, but it's very clear it's a CDN issue. I get it, LL wants to call the whole CDN project a 100% success. I wish it was, but I'm in the same boat as you Sean, SL has become very frustrating and limited use. LL wants to point the finger at the IPS, but clearly something is wrong with CDN as my data requests go through Mediacom then AT&T (you don't get bigger infrustrature than that) and times out at the CDN server waiting for the requested data.

  8. Mediacom quote: "The tracert is not showing that in what we have above, the tracert shows the same slowdown point when the signal is reaching the SecondLife servers. If we can get a tracert that shows connection time outs at the Mediacom network or even the AT&T portion, we can work from there. I can check area utilization for you if you'd like to send a PM with the account number or phone number on the account."
  9. Course Mediacom says the trace routing leaves mediacom and follows AT&T and gets lost once it hits your CDN servers.
  10. Thanks Oz. Posted the info you sent to a Mediacom Forum Internet Support topic https://forums.mediacomcable.com/index.php?topic=27114.0 Be nice if we could find more people in our area to express their SL experience.
  11. Which is what several of us in this area need. Some sort of multi user data information that points to an ISP issue. But everything I see points only to a CDN issue.
  12. I get it. Most likely LL is looking to the future of SL and a wider audience and trying to offload it's server tasks to regional nodes. But lets look at the big picture. Less control as now regional nodes and traffic issues. Plus imagine what will happen when SL 2.0 rolls out and lets say SL expands. Traffic doubles or even 10-20 fold growth overnight if they develope multiple platform options (we all know PC sales are in a major decline). Seems reports of CDN issues are world wide. Most currently minor, handful like me, major issues. Sorry about all the complaining. but feel desperate for a solution. Went from being very productive in SL and actually running several successful buninesses for years to at a standstill and helpless overnight.
  13. Yeah, I have no info to even submit to Mediacom as everything shows running perfectly. Just failed fetching or timeouts with only CDN
  14. Yeah agree. Feel there are more and more out there with same issue, but so many are use to SL having issues they are ignoring it. I've tested my system, connection, possible throttling by ISP, even swapped routers, direct connection, you name it. Had Mediacom out 6 times since the issue started, can't find a problem. Only seems to be failrures with CDN retry timeouts, or getting Texture Doesn't Exist and other CDN fetching errors. During the day, can go anywhere, most crowded sims, new places, and everything pops into place. But come evening, for 3-4 hours. skin, textures, missing items (somethings I can click on item where it should be and see the physics, but no textures or deformed mesh). Even though the item was there a second ago and if I cam out disappears. I get it, LL is trying to improve speed. But think they are either over taxing their own system, or pushing beyond normal internet limitations. I don't see major improvements in internet speed in the future. Hell most are starting major restrictions and limitations. I don't see any other mmorpg games I play have issues like this.
  15. Just so odd to go up to mid Feb without a problem. Everything popped info place. No rez issues then like clockwork failures. I personally don't notice peak SL traffic/population until 5:30pm SLT ish nightly for 3-4 hours. Seems to be around 40ish during the day, then around those times jumps to 57k ish for several hours and then starts to fall.
  16. If Linden labs says it's an issue with my ISP having degraded services during peak times, going to need a lot more information to combat this. Standard speed tests show no issues. Mediacom says no issues. Have no idea where this CDN server is and why only it has issues connecting during peak hours.
  17. Yeah, I'm getting a lot of run around from Linden Support on this. Saying it's my ISP..
  18. Anyone still having CDN failed fetching or retry timeouts during peak SL periods 5:30pm SLT for 3 - 4 hours each night?
  19. I still have CDN failed Fetching and various texture, deformed mesh items etc only during SL peak times of 5:30pm SLT for about 3-4 hours. Otherwise daily no issues at all. Live in Gulf Coast, Pensacola Florida area. Steady cable 56Mbps internet. No packet loss. As I teleport around, or cam in and out things deform, disappear, or take FOREVER to rez as my logs show numerous attempts to contact CDN services and fetching retry timeouts. or report Item Doesn't Exist.
  20. CDN Issues during Peak SL times? 5:30pm SLT - 9pm ish? Nightly? CDN is a new regional Content Delivery Network (regional servers) Linden Labs started using late last year. Some may remember few days in Dec nothing was rezzing. people were grey, buildings & items would disappear. Since Feb, only during SL peak times with max people online. Various Fetching time outs. items & textures are failing to rez as you teleport around or cam out. Items not refreshing. etc. Logs report show item & texture requests going out numerous times, but CDN doesn't reply. This is only at ngiht and lasts for 3-4 hours until SL traffic seems to calm down. I've heard from others in my area of Gulf Coast of Florida & Alabama, Mediacom Internet provider. I've heard from others around the country also wish similar issues at night with Fetching Failures during peak times. If you two are having lot of rez issues only during peak times, join the JIRA below so we can get this fixed. 21. Have 3 animated cell textures on a light beams in a link set. Trying to trigger 3 to fire one at a time in sequence. Currently using 1 script to call to each beam to fire it's llsetlinktextureanim. Need them to repeat from start to end on a loop until a stop is called. I have everything else I need working. Calling named prims in a linkset for each beam to run it's llsetlinktextureanim and stop. Just not figuring out how to trigger the llsetlinktextureanim nicely from one to the next and repeat. Tried everything from llsleep to fire to next beam and start the llsetlinktextureanim, to adjust the starting cell of the animation texture and it's frames per second. The llSleep works okay on 1sec or .05 second delay between firing each beam and gives the look of a sequence, but anything faster and doesn't work., Need a nice fast triggering of the 3 light beams from one to the other and back.
