    Even no-copy, no-transfer prizes!

Ugly t-shirts, garish sunglasses, poker visors, tourist hats, plushies..anything that reflects on the seedy nature of a casino.

ETA: "Alibi" receipts, to show your soon-to-be-Ex that you REALLY WERE AT THE CASINO.

    hahahahaha,  my thoughts exactly!!!

It looks like a place to just hang out, not get drinks because Anubis is neglectful, and press levers.  I do like levers though, and buttons.

Thank you for clarifying ...  I really was confused - like other's,  still feel like I'm missing something obvious.

I'm a social gambler.  I enjoy meeting people from all over at the tables.

If they had live music/DJs,  and people there were friendly, and if they had a roulette table and maybe a craps table.... it could be fun.  They do,  however,  need at least boobie prizes!

  3. Melody,

I sent you a message.  I know a place your friend might like - they don't use voice, but the crowd is 50+ and the chat is not full of gestures nor does it fly by (most of the time) like some clubs.  It's a small place with friendly people (most are from UK) and the Dj is 70+

Hope this can be of some help.  :)

It may be snobbery, it may be someone attempting to be helpful and take you around to the hottest mesh head and body shops. Tact isn’t everyone’s strong suit. I’ve seen many default avatars at Lelutka and various skin stores.

I also don’t think it’s necessarily a mesh v ‘classic’ avatar issue. There are quite a few trolls that show up in one of the default avatars on sims to start trouble. I’ve seen it many times before. So much so, people are known to have their guards up around default avatars.

This is a valid point,  well made.    I'm always friendly to new residents,  because I remember what it was like to be new --- but sometimes you find out the person behind the avatar is anything but new to SL and has ill intentions.

I would also like to say,  there's a difference between wanting / liking your mesh avatar with the latest fashions --- and being a "snob" about it.   I am a shop-a-holic with an inventory full of new and shiny things - because I enjoy dressing up my avatar.   You're only a "snob" if you look down on others and make rude comments or put something in your profile proudly proclaiming yourself as an "avatar snob" - which I've seen a few times in the last year or so.

    PS --- Janet ..  that's my RL name  :):)

  5. I save things that change color etc.,  into a folder - since this is not done simply by saving as an "outfit"...  and can be very frustrating.

Like Katherine,  I also save a few "naked base avatars" so I can start over easily with different skins and shapes.

I haven't tried the favorites panel in Firestorm yet - but it sounds great... gotta try it.  LOL

  6. ahhhh,  you met one or two of the "avatar snobs" that stink up Second Life ... they are so proud, they put it in their profiles!

It's easier said than done,  but - do try to ignore them.   I have several friends who have been in SL for many years and never went mesh.  They look absolutely fine!!!   I have one friend that has never went mesh and never changes clothes - always wears the same clothes...  so what?   It's his choice and no one should judge anyone else,  especially for a freakin' avatar!!!!!

As the wise ladies above me said,   it's really up to you!

There ARE some people that are very anti-mesh ....   I find them just as irritating as the "mesh only" types.  Everyone should be who they want to be,  that's what Second Life is all about!

I will advise you to take your time.  Going mesh costs money,  and it can get complicated - so don't let snobs push you into something you don't want or may not be ready for....

Welcome to Second Life - you'll meet some really great people and some real jerks... it's inevitable.
